Re: U Chicago 2010
My hunch is the UPDATED UR 1/15 folks (that is, the people who were UR XX/XX and then updated to UR 1/15 [not those who are UR for the first time on 1/15]) comprise a batch of rejections. This from looking at LSN history and knowing the stats of some of these folks.
On another note, still UR 11/25 georgiana? I am!

Yeah and I'm pretty certain that those of us who went UR before December and havent heard anything as yet will see a WL e-mail very soon. Still stuck at 12/14 btw.crackberry wrote:My hunch is the UPDATED UR 1/15 folks (that is, the people who were UR XX/XX and then updated to UR 1/15 [not those who are UR for the first time on 1/15]) comprise a batch of rejections. Well, Chicago is one of the few schools I told myself I'd still consider. I'm really attracted to Chicago's learning environment, as well as its clerkship & academia placement. My sister went there for UG and I like the city a lot. You can rest assured, however, that I will withdraw upon receipt of the WL email I am sure to get in the near future.hopefulundergrad wrote:Why don't you just withdraw already?

Well if I do then I will visit and make a decision at a later date. The truth is, I have to do my due diligence with a few non-HYS schools (namely NYU, Chicago and Berkeley), which I thought might be my targets/minor reaches entering the cycle.hopefulundergrad wrote:I think you'll get in.

looking at LSN, last year holds were given out alongside rejections in january, and everyone who submitted in sept/oct heard something by the end of january. (sound like a familiar system?) last year R/H were by mail, but this year it seems everything is email. maybe the holds have been delayed this year, but i surely won't be looking forward to an email from chi this week.
edit: to say, holds don't correspond with dates on LSN because they're not real decisions. people describe them in their profiles.
