Damn. Sorry to hear that; I was using you as a beacon of hope.

Inconsiderate edit: Were you held?

Looks like they are done with their aside of massive waitlisting and back to looking at the remaining later submission apps?

Thanks! I am totally excited for CLS. Harvard was a shot in the dark. I missed. :) I am from NYC, so back home I go.

It's cool. Life goes on, I'll enjoy Columbia. Plus I hate the Red Sox and I'm a Yankees fan, so it would have been torture.

Gulp. I suppose it'll be nice for this to be over for me. Mind if I ask the dates you applied and went UR?

You should be ecstatic over CLS ! (which you are...). I just think it's an insane world we live in at TLS where HLS is perceived as a "shot in the dark" vs. other comparable schools. Don't talk HLS up too much. You had a good shot if you got into CLS. Go kick some ass elsehwere... :wink:

Yes - this comment is also for my own self-esteem and sanity. :mrgreen:

I was hoping for that too, especially given my work experience, which is rather significant. Oh well, at least Columbia loves me. ha

At least it saves you from uncertainty and more decision making. Now you can plan for the next step. You have my favorite avatar on TLS btw :D

I saw all the discussion over the last couple pages on waitlisting sub-3.8 GPAs, but I saw a 3.84/175 waitlist on LSN who was a humanities/soc. sci. double major. Granted, both those fields <<<<< hard sciences for difficulty, but I'd think most people applying to LS would have a humanities/social sciences background so it wouldn't put someone at a significant disadvantage. They're definitely selecting for very high GPAs this cycle, but that person's profile makes me think there's something else going on in addition. (Also, I skimmed that guy's LSN profile and didn't see any red flags to explain the WL.)

yeah, major case of tl;dr on that one. Perhaps he had lukewarm recommendations? He's still awaiting chicago, which says something, at any rate, although it could be YP. Beyond that, very tough to say, beyond looking at the amount of money he was offered at places--and the 25k at CLS might be telling? not really sure.

He is also a retake of 163 -> 175.
