Good luck to everyone who hasn't gotten one yet, and congrats to everyone else who has!
Did you JUST get it on the east cost? Meaning that its not going in order east to west coast?
I don't know about the above, but I JUST (last 15 minutes) got a JR2, and I'm solidly EST. So they're not strictly going out from east to west.

YAY!

It is not even December. You are rejected/WL when you hear that you are rejected/WL and not before.
I stand corrected - are we most likely rejected or waitlisted if we don't hear back this week and we already had a JR1?

Last year on LSN, I could find hardly anyone admitted in December who interviewed before Thanksgiving week (all had interviews 11/25 or after)...

And more importantly, do we think there will be more calls tomorrow and/or Wednesday?

Congratulations to everyone who's been accepted!

Question: Have any JR1 e-mails gone out today or is it all about the JR2 right now?

+1. Think it's possible he'll hold off on West Coast applicants until tomorrow? It's almost 3 in Cambridge...

Congrats to all the people who got accepted. My status checker says under review already but I was wondering if I would receive a complete email or just a possible JR1 email?

I am going to have to shut my computer down in about 10 minutes in preparation for landing. The total dearth of calls to West Coast applicants makes a possible lack of voicemail less depressing but means I will not sleep tonight if he doesn't start calling those of us in the Pacific Time Zone.

Excuse my ignorance, but could someone explain this JR1 and JR2 business?

JR2!!!!!!

very much EST, had my JR1 11/17, LSAT above 75th and GPA just above 25th. Info others have asked about: a big packet will be sent out the tuesday after thanksgiving with the password to the admitted students website and a harvard email address. that's about all....

so many congratulations to those who are in, so much luck to those waiting!

The most likely possibility is that JR2's will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday. Last year, the first batch of students was admitted the week before Thanksgiving (the Thanksgiving batch) and all week. There was a second batch admitted before Christmas, with TS1's going out the first week of December and TS2's the second/third week of December. It is probable that pattern will hold. I think there might have been another wave right after New Year's but I stopped paying attention after December.

I wouldn't give up hope until after Wednesday....and realistically until after the first week of December. However, if you had a JR1 in late October/early November and don't get a JR2 by the 1st week of December, while not the kiss of death, the signs are not good....only about 80% of those interviewed get acceptance calls, so 20% get JR1 and no JR2

Do you know what percent get JR1 to begin with? Granted my LSAT was low, but I figured I'd at least get a phone interview.

In past years it's been about 1,100 out of 7,500 applicants.

If I remember my figures right (and most of my information is from last year) I think there are roughly 7,000 applicants each year and of this number 800-1200 get interviews depending on the year. There was a tls post about it last year in the
harvard class of 2012, I think. Basically, about 15% get interviews, I think...

nvm. I went and found my source of information: --LinkRemoved--

Bascially, this was under Toby Stock, but he makes 1000-1100 calls (out of 7000 applicants) and roughly 800-850 (I think) of those get admitted (hence my 80% from before.) I don't know exactly what Josh will do, but I assume the model is roughly similar, as the numbers are unlikely to change too much.

Also, in answer to your assumption....generally phone interviews are given to students HLS is strongly considering admitting, not as a test of fitness or anything, like a normal interview. It's mainly to make sure there are no factors that should PREVENT you from being accepted, rather than a test to determine IF they should accept you.
