JR just wrote a blog post about the interview process:
JR wrote:
One of the most frequent questions I get from prospective students is about our phone interviews. As I have just started doing interviews this week, I thought I’d try to provide some clarity around the process and interview topics.

Each year, we invite many prospective students to have a 10-15 minute phone conversation. The number of phone interviews varies from year to year – we try to do as many interviews as possible and every candidate offered admission will be interviewed. Don’t worry if you aren’t invited to interview right away – our interviews continue through the spring and into the summer.

The interviews are meant to be relatively informal and give me a chance to learn more about you than I can from your paper application. Typically we’ll discuss some of what you’re working on right now (in school or at work) and will talk about why law school makes sense for you. I may also have a specific question or two to clarify something from your application. I’ll also try to leave time in case you have any questions for me, but don’t feel any pressure here – it’s okay if you don’t have a question you want to ask.

That’s it – no trick questions. I promise.

I look forward to speaking with many of you over the coming months.

Cheer up! You'll get in somewhere. :)

(unless, you know, you wrote your PS about committing murder. even then, if your numbers are good enough...)

congrats!

interesting, I think what someone said earlier about lots of high GPAs is still true. unless I missed someone, everyone who's reported getting one so far (and has his/her stats available) is a 3.9+ type, but the LSATs have been a bit more varied. really small sample obv, but I wonder whether it's pure coincidence or it actually means something

Are the stats in your profile accurate / are you URM?

Can we assume that they're processing people in order w/r/t phone interviews?

Like, the people who are getting them now are by and large Sept. applicants/completes? While those of us in Oct. will be notified later?

This is what I think about when I've got the flu the weekend before midterms.

Speaking as a similar-stat person (higher LSAT, lower GPA) I am thinking we may not be getting that call anytime soon. All is not lost, however. :)

Got my JR1 email today. Sent my app in early October, went complete October 13.

I don't like this.

I never got a complete email either, I just went straight to under review. It does say at the top that my file is complete.

I'm curious about this too. my app was received on 10/8, under review since 10/14, but got the "complete email" just 2 days ago (10/22). I hope the delay is simply due to the great amount of applications they receive. I so desperately want JR1!!!

well guess there's no predicting when/how JR is doing the calls. what a fun, happy time we're having!

also, congrats to the auto-admits who have completed their JR1s.
