Anyone else guessing that the people who had the first JR1s will probably hear from him again this week? He said we should know before thanksgiving and last year acceptances went out the 20th. I'm anxious to hear!

Possible, but in past years the calls came out one or two days before Thanksgiving, so probably not until next week. But that certainly would be VERY nice!

That would be amazing. Tomorrow marks the two month date for people who applied as early as possible. Also, I thought acceptances went out on the 25th last year; do you have a link for people receiving TS2 on the 20th?

Based on a chart created by a bunch of users on Law School Discussion, the first batch of calls came out on the 23rd in 2004 and the 25th in 2005. And yes, last year's first batch did come out on the 25th.

It seems like the calls are definitely scheduled around the Thanksgiving holiday, so I doubt we'll be hearing back this week. But I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm just hoping that those of us who got the calls at the end of the 1st week of November get JR2s before Thanksgiving...granted, I'll take one a month later (let's face it, I'll take one two weeks before term starts) but it'd be REALLY nice to have one before the holiday.

sigh, it sounds like you guys are probably right. I was hoping it would be this week because when I asked JR when I would hear back he at first said "probably two to three weeks" and this is week three, but then he said, "but let's just say before thanksgiving," so it could be later. what people are saying about having acceptances come out one or two days before thanksgiving seems to make most sense. any one know how they do it? do they call you or email you first?

Did JR actually explicitly tell you "let's just say before Thanksgiving"? When did you have your JR1? And yes, JR calls each individual accepted applicant.

I don't remember the exact words, but yes he did say I should hear before thanksgiving. Though it sounds like people are saying that they are going to send out rejections and waitlists earlier this year, so not sure it means much either way. Would love to know soon though! My JR1 was on the first day of calls, Oct 22.

I highly doubt the first JR2's will come at some time other than 1 or 2 days before Thanksgiving. Based on the past, anyone from the first JR1's (i.e. late Oct.) to those up until about 11/18 will get them at this time. While JR1 and JR2's seem to come in waves, it seems JR2's come in larger waves than JR1's....

A couple people have said that rejections and waitlists will come out earlier, but as far as I can tell, there is no good reason to assume this. Has JR said anything to that effect?

best reason to assume this is KB in an info session said something along the lines of "last yr putting off waitlists/rejections till the end (April, etc.) was a HUGE mistake -- one they will not be repeating, so they will try to get waitlists/rejections back sooner as well"...then there's the whole 2 months thing in the email, and JR in the JR1 said "we'll try to get a decision to you in a couple of weeks" <-- this was almost a month ago

I wonder if this means we can no longer feel excited if we see the Boston area code appear in our phone for the second time. Hopefully they only call if you get accepted, and just email if you get waitlisted/rejected. Would suck to think I am getting a JR2 only to have him inform me of my rejection

I would be completely shocked if they called for rejections. I think there is a 99% chance you would just get a snail mail notification.

Haha yea; of course this is right. Can you imagine how awkward that phone call would be...

The waiting and stress make me start thinking crazy.

My app has been under review for over a week, but I still haven't gotten a "file complete" email. Is this normal?

yes; they come randomly. some get them quickly, others take awhile. some get it w/ a JR1 email, others get a JR1 email after, and another group of people get JR1's before complete emails.

How does JR have time to hold a good amount of JR2 interviews while also calling people with their acceptances all in the matter of 3 days(Thanksgiving week)? He must be swamped.

JR2 and calling people about their acceptances are the same thing.

Thanks for posting the list. Interesting to see Stanford/Harvard going out on the same day that one year. Must have made some people very happy. Should be interesting to see when the Stanford acceptances start rolling out -- the Stanford thread hasn't been getting much love!

Really? I had no idea. I thought JR2 was just a second interview, then after that they make a decision and call you... So is there a JR2 email or do you just randomly get the call one day?
