Your HLS status checker says "Under Committee Review"?
I haven't heard of that status before. Are you sure that you posted in the right thread?

Huh?
Meaning... has anyone who's gone under review BEFORE 11/20 not heard back yet...

Seems like most people have been sent held or rejection emails or have heard about JR1s if they went UR in November. I haven't heard a peep.

Thanks... my mistake.... my Penn status checker says that....not Harvard.

Just got rejected, as expected (<25% on LSAT and GPA). GLARING typo in the email. Man, they really don't care about those they aren't trying to woo...

Ha, thanks! I see a 177/3.6 got rejected with me, which makes me feel better somehow. (If you or some other TLSer happens to be that 177/3.6 then I'm sorry!).

So I submitted my app 1/3 and just got an email for my JR1 for 1/26. The thing is, my #s are 171/4.03. Are they just messing with my head here? It seems like I'm definitely destined for the 25% who get JR1 and no JR2. Or do you think it's possible they're trying to balance out the class with interesting softs? I've got 2+ years work experience at a political nonprofit and wrote my personal statement about all my public interest work.

Just trying to realistically assess what this JR1 means for me!

Have you looked at LSN? Just from glancing at the chart it looks like lots of people with your numbers get in. I wish I had a JR1 email.

It means you have a competitive application and they are moving you towards an acceptance. Getting the JR1 should be a cause for celebration not pessimism and self-doubt IMHO

173/3.6, MFA Playwriting, about 3 years progressively more responsible work experience, Submitted 11/24, Complete 12.10, UR 12.1, have heard not a peep. Hoping it's in the cards, but thinking that, alas, it is not. Been following this for awhile, congrats to all those accepted/GL to all those in waiting.

Does anyone actually know the numbers - what is the acceptance rate for applicants who get JR1?

Last year, there were approximately 1,100 phone interviews and approximately 800 acceptances. There's a new guy running the show this year, so it's possible that the ratio has changed. But I doubt it. Just eyeballing the anecdotal evidence on TLS, it looks like about 70% of the applicants get accepted within a few days of their JR1.

Yeah, there are a lot of 17x /3.6 rejected... I think Harvard has close to a hard GPA wall around 3.6/3.65.. but good luck! I think a few manage to slip in around that block.
