Yeah, I was just curious about who the interviewer will be/how we will refer to it. Looks like Josh Rubenstein is the new Toby Stock, hence the JR1/2.

Mine is under review now too...
what was the timeline for interviews last year? ie, when should we be finding out if we got JR1??

Re: Harvard 2010!
according to lsn, email invites for JR1 start late october, JR1's start early november, JR2's start late november. again, that says start, but i'm not sure what one's not getting these things early on in the cycle indicates about ultimate decision.a.shoshana wrote:Mine is under review now too...

you guys prompted me to check my status, and not gonna lie, my heart pounded pretty hard for a moment when i saw "under review".

Seems most likely. Josh Rubenstein is definitely the new admissions dean so, presuming he does the phone calls, JR it will be.joshikousei wrote:is JR the new TS?

it's best to let self destructive behaviors continue, in this posh era we live in, Darwin can use all the help he can getRocketman11 wrote:Again, I have no personal stake. I also don't have a stake when I see homeless people eating paint chips, or a myriad of other futile/self-destructive endeavours one may encounter in life, but I would at least have to ask out of curiousity.iminlstrick wrote:
Well, you only think we lack special softs or URM status Anyway, it really anyone's prerogative to apply, whether or not they have "the numbers." What's it to you whether someone with low numbers applies?
In this case, I guess I just see it as flushing cash down the toilet and part of me wants to stop people from wasting money, so I'm wondering what the opposing view is? Is it just to say you did it? is it because you think you have a .00001% chance? I don't know, but I asked. And got this Capercaillie character jumping down my throat for it.

It's only $12. I can still dream.Rocketman11 wrote:Why are people who obviously don't have the numbers applying? You're just feeding their yield by letting them reject you.

Yea hah me too. In the email it said a decision is usually rendered two months from the time the application is submitted. That was kind of helpful.

I thought I read that the email saying complete is a bad thing to have before receiving the email to be invited for a phone call, can anyone back that up? I just received the email saying complete also...

That would make no sense, considering in the application received email it says "we will email you when your file is complete."

Okay, it might just be me freaking out. I just remember reading threads about that last cycle and people said that it was bad to get the complete email without getting a TS1. I know that the phone calls dont usually start for awhile now though so maybe its just because its so early?VoidSix wrote:That would make no sense, considering in the application received email it says "we will email you when your file is complete."

Re: Harvard 2010!
yeah pretty sure it is not the case. hell, they just pretty much sent a copy of what it says on the status checker and that it just went to committee.0L Hoping for 1 wrote:I thought I read that the email saying complete is a bad thing to have before receiving the email to be invited for a phone call, can anyone back that up? still too early -- all signs point to emails about receiving interviews to be in about 2 weeks time, and interviews starting in about 3 weeks from now.
pre-thxgiving days are when we should look for the first round of acceptances. honestly, the next 2 weeks should be uneventful.

Re: Harvard 2010!
it prob applies to maybe later applicants a bit more, but this is too early for them to be considering JS1's imo.0L Hoping for 1 wrote:Okay, it might just be me freaking out. also, i read that toby stock used to SOMETIMES call ppl before their app went to committee...ppl who he thought looked interesting he would interview first, jot down notes on the app, then send the app to committee for final review. however, this was not always the case, and usually ppl went to committee, then got an interview + notes, then got a decision rendered.
edit: deleted numbers -- also, yeah JS is new so he prob wouldnt be taking files pre-committee to look at...but bah im just guessing haha

Okay, that is good. With those numbers you should get an interview. I am a little below you in numbers, but if you got a complete email than I think the threads last cycle were all just speculative.
I guess without TS too there is no telling how it will go this year..

Wow. I'm surprised at the expectations/sense of entitlement ITT. My numbers aren't too shabby either, but I'm not demanding/expecting anything at this point--even an interview. But I guess each person knows his/her own application best...

Re: Harvard 2010!
At what point do the first calls usually go out from the admissions dean? I don't know what the trend was from last year.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
