UVA is lovin them some reverse splitters...maybe I should apply.

If you have a GPA > 3.9, and a LSAT >= 160, I'd definitely consider applying (ED).

Damn, better shot ED at UVA than UCLA?

Sent in ED app today. 165/3.9. Crossing fingers.

I'm wondering if they have a quota on the amount of reverse splitters they accept? Although the deadline for ED is Dec. 15th, I decided to play it safe and send ED first, then do my research on the school.

Talking to 1L's, everyone seems to love it! Awesome.

Yes, a few times although it was a few years ago. Enough to have a good sense of where the school is/surrounding area. Oddly enough, we ended up getting lost and wandering around the law school area/attempted to go through one of the buildings. If only I had known then... haha.

assuming your boy gets in (an unwarranted assumption) I will happily give them sticker and pretty much anyone around me after i find out free drinks, in fact, i may make it rain. i have a 164 and a high GPA so, what can you expect.

Agreed. I'm not 100% sure I like paying sticker at UVA versus maybe getting a full ride to a T20-25 school but the full ride thing isn't gonna happen either, so sticker it is if they take me. That's why I ED'd.

When applying ED, I think you pretty much commit to paying sticker. With reverse splitter stats I don't mind. It's a lot to take on and truthfully, a bit scary. But it's an investment. My plan is to do everything out of my ability to graduate with only $150,000 in debt and pay it off in at most, 10 years. Yes, I will be a poor, poor lawyer for a while.

My reasoning: 150,000K+ of debt is only worth at a T14. T20-30 is only worth if you come out with <$75,000 of debt IMO.

Agreed, and as a splitter even reaching and assuming 1/2 tuition scholarships to the T30s I like, I would still be coming out with over $100K in debt. This was how I decided the ED was definitely worth it, IMO.

Edit: Haven't submitted yet, still struggling with my PS .. definitely will by the end of next week though.

Do any of your admissions materials say when the admitted students weekend will occur?

There's one in March and one in April according to the acceptance letter from Trujillo. Oh and I hardly told anybody yet, but I got accepted this past September (ED -- reverse splitter). Looking forward to meeting all.

I hope this hasn't been asked before... before you were accepted did you get an update telling you that the signed ED form was received, or does it change anything in the status checker?

I submitted my app last night, went complete this morning and mailed the ED form this morning as well...

Thanks!

It should note that your ED form was received (once it is) in your status checker.

My status checker does not note my choice of ED... I e-mailed to ask them if they had received it and they had, so you may want to check with them just to be sure.

My status checker never said when my form came in the mail.

When I submitted online (10/24), I then went complete/pending review on 10/26. But the ED contract went in the mail on 10/26, and then on 11/2, I went complete/pending review again.

Got the acceptance on 11/3.

So I'm not sure what that all means.

Probably not great, but you never know.
