Talked to Jason got in ED as well today (3.48/171/non-resident) and I did not get an email first. Has anyone thought of making a UVA class of 2013 thread yet haha? I went complete the 7th and got my ED agreement in the 9th or 10th

164, had to be URM, that is way below 25th. 3.91 is barely above 75th.

You're probably in. UVA did this last year with accepted applicants all the time.

Thank you exactly what I was looking for. I sure hope so.

Got the same email last year. I'll cross fingers for you.

Nope. 164 isn't too far from UVA's 25th percentile LSAT score and 3.91 is certainly going to be above median. Moreover, UVA appears to be one of those schools that loves them splitters, even high GPA ones. Favoring both types of splitters (so long as one number is above median) is the most efficient way to manufacture a strong class profile (median LSAT/GPA numbers). Other schools like WUSTL and Illinois do this as well. You can tell since these schools' 25th percentile numbers are much further away from the median than are the 75th percentile numbers. For example, WUSTL's 25/50/75 LSAT numbers are 161/167/168. Illinois' 25/50/75 GPA numbers are 3.2/3.8/3.9. Compare this to schools like Cornell, Michigan and USC where the disparity between 25-50 numbers isn't as wide.

BTW, congrats to all those accepted to UVA's c/o 2013!

Jason Dugas is a really nice guy. Had the opportunity to sit down with him for a while. Sent my ED out this morning. Here's hoping with a 168, 3.9. No fee waiver. Didn't get any fee waivers. Was I supposed to apply for fee waivers?

If you'd asked UVA for one, you'd surely have gotten one. I wouldn't worry too much, you should be in ED at UVA anyway.

That was a bit of a prophetical statement, there. Talk about instant gratification, I got the call from Cordell Faulk about 3 PM this afternoon (so, about 26 hours after I hit the submit button).

I don't mind that I blew $260 on applications. It was better to do that than tempt fate, imo.

Is a 164/3.71 worth an ED here? Or is it better used elsewhere? Non VA resident

It's best used at whatever your top choice is.
