Well, that was quick. Waitlist via email, moments ago. UR 1/26, numbers in profile. Went down to visit, met with admissions director and followed up with a thank you/why Duke, to no avail. Very disappointed. Oh well.

Re: In at Duke!
Mine changed to this yesterday after being UR 11/9 (forever) then the date changed recently. Sunday it changed to that then I got the e-mail saying I got in yesterday evening, then another email with another set of information. I submitted in October so this was a long time coming.astro1819 wrote:"Decision made; you will be notified soon" via status checker 3/1. UR 1/26. AHHH!!!

sorry to hear, haven't gotten an email yet, but i was ur 1/26, and DR 3/1 notified soon...so i guess i'll be in the same boat (or worse, since your numbers are better than mine)astro1819 wrote:Well, that was quick. Why do you hate me, Duke? Complete 1/14 and then... nothing. If I see "File Ready for Review" one more time I may put my foot through my laptop.

Re: In at Duke!
They have a "priority reserve" status that PT applicants were placed into. I assume they would exhaust that before dipping into the regular waitlist. Not sure about chances, it probably depends on what characteristics they want to bring in at the end to round out their class, if they dip into it at all. I'm taking my waitlist to be a soft rejection. At least Berkeley had the guts to go all the way.86revolt wrote:thanks. one less person to compete. anyone have any info about the duke WL? i don't imagine that they have a priority waitlist like g-town, do they? is it ranked? how many people do they tend to take from it?D-hops wrote:Just got the waitlist email. Re: In at Duke!
so do you think all the acceptances and WL emails have been sent for DR 3/1, are the rest just rejections?

I just withdrew. UR since 11/16 with no decision, and didn't see any reason to continue waiting for one. 4 months with no word is a bit ridiculous.

WL today via email. I took it to be a friendly rejection. I'll probably withdraw once I decide on one of my other choices. Good luck to anyone daring enough to ride the WL into the summer (Cowboy hat + A-bomb).

So if it's DR on 3/1 and I don't have an email saying anything yet, is that safe to assume I'll be getting a rejection in the regular mail in the next few days or does Duke just take time getting out emails? thanks and sorry if this is a repeat question.

Re: In at Duke!
My status checker was updated to DR by the first time I checked it (~8:30am CST) the day I got in and I didn’t receive an email until 4:30 or so that afternoon…it was a very long day.Baloo wrote:So if it's DR on 3/1 and I don't have an email saying anything yet, is that safe to assume I'll be getting a rejection in the regular mail in the next few days or does Duke just take time getting out emails? thanks and sorry if this is a repeat question.

Re: In at Duke!
baloo, from what ive searched in past forums, duke can take up to a few days (!) to send a WL email following a status checker update and that they notify acceptance, wl, and rejections initially through emailmlf1939 wrote:My status checker was updated to DR by the first time I checked it (~8:30am CST) the day I got in and I didn’t receive an email until 4:30 or so that afternoon…it was a very long day.Baloo wrote:So if it's DR on 3/1 and I don't have an email saying anything yet, is that safe to assume I'll be getting a rejection in the regular mail in the next few days or does Duke just take time getting out emails? thanks and sorry if this is a repeat question.

I was also WL 3/1, UR 1/26. Is anybody else on the summer-start WL? I'm wondering/hoping if/that this pool is smaller.

Re: In at Duke!
Cool, that's good to know. Mt status was decision first time I checked today and then I got an email answering a question I asked last week about submitting further materials. So I'm guessing that's a WL although whoever answers those questions probably doesn't have access to the status info.mlf1939 wrote:My status checker was updated to DR by the first time I checked it (~8:30am CST) the day I got in and I didn’t receive an email until 4:30 or so that afternoon…it was a very long day.Baloo wrote:So if it's DR on 3/1 and I don't have an email saying anything yet, is that safe to assume I'll be getting a rejection in the regular mail in the next few days or does Duke just take time getting out emails? thanks and sorry if this is a repeat question.

If I am at DR 3/1 and haven't received an email yet, can I assume that I'm dinged? Or am I just being a bit antsy and jumping the gun?
