Wrote a Why Duke?
I'm okay with it, but I was hoping for more. Definitely going to ask for more and note that my fiancee got into UNC dental school.

Re: In at Duke!
I wonder whether they're emailing in waves today. I've been under review since mid-November and have WL/reject numbers, yet I haven't received an email. I'd be surprised if I'm not in today's cull.

Been under review since 12/2 here; hope we both evade the bloodbath.UFMatt wrote:I wonder whether they're emailing in waves today. I've been under review since mid-November and have WL/reject numbers, yet I haven't received an email. I'd be surprised if I'm not in today's cull.

Dang, today's been pretty rough. Maybe they'll have a batch of accepts later this afternoon.

Re: In at Duke!
Wishful thinking? To me it seems like there won't be any more batches of acceptances, just a few that trickle in among swaths of rejections. Duke seemed pretty aggressive this year in admitting early, denying/waitlisting later. Not sure how many more spaces are left...thickfreakness wrote:Dang, today's been pretty rough. Still UR 11/9. URM mega-splitter. Expected a WL but don't know why they wouldn't have informed me today. We'll see.

I had to look it up. Seems Cravath does but Wachtell doesn't. I guess if your going to law school just to land Wachtell then Duke isn't the place for you. I had never heard of either of these places, so this proves an inherit fail in my law school selection.Kronk wrote:Watchell and Cravath don't do OCI here? Oh then fuck that!

Where did you find the info, just curious? I was pretty sure Cravath didn't.
Either way, they are the most prestigious firms. Biggest bonuses for associates, etc. From what I understand, only 1-2 people get taken from NYUMVP ever year, let alone DCNG.

Not sure if it's the same firm or how accurate the information is. Can someone give me a link to this 'veeten' website? Does US News put out this ranking too?

Re: In at Duke!
Thanks for your link too, I knew a little about firm rankings but I haven't cared to look. The NALP website is soooo awesome and I haven't cared to look at anything else but that. It's a bit dated though, and I have no idea when it gets updated.Kronk wrote:Wow, that's extremely useful.
