Not in yet but will be before Thanksgiving, is that still early enough to feel good about my chances?Kretzy wrote:Are you Priority Track? If so, quite good.jawsthegreat wrote:I have a 3.5/173 what do you guys feel like my chances are?
If not, still quite good. Below 25th GPA but a good amount above 75th LSAT. If you're in already (even if not PT) then I'd say your chances are very solid.

You should be fine, I'd think, if you're in before the Thanksgiving rush. Earlier the better. Duke seems to be quicker than other schools (ahem...that's what she said) for decisions.jawsthegreat wrote:Not in yet but will be before Thanksgiving, is that still early enough to feel good about my chances?Kretzy wrote:Are you Priority Track? Oh, to be back in the days of June, when all I was waiting for was my test results. At least then I had some sort of time frame! *sigh*

Has anyone on Priority Track been denied? Waitlisted?
Or is it really almost an auto-admit, so long as you don't send in a horrible application?

A few people were asked for fall grades. Otherwise, I think 1 person was rejected from PT on LSN last year, and they applied in Feb or something similar if I recall.Tangerine Gleam wrote:Has anyone on Priority Track been denied? Waitlisted?

Also, I like you. I see you in just about all of the threads I post in -- looks like we're aiming for a lot of similar schools. Best of luck to you in all your cycle endeavors! And bonus points for the 'Showzen thread.

I went complete on priority track last week. It's very exciting to know that I'll have a decision from a top school within the next three or four days, tops. Ahhh, the suspense!

Sent my app in on Friday night after emailing back and forth with Mark Hill about a fee waiver (which they granted!). I asked for a fee waiver and PT sub3.0 gpa, 170+ LSAT, URM and he asked about my GPA and I said strong upward trend yada yada and he said here's the waiver, look forward to reading your app. Pretty sure no PT though.

Re: In at Duke!
Anyone going to Duke interested in pursuing a joint degree? I like the way they handle it there... you don't have to do the GRE and if you get into the LS and want to do a JD with another Duke grad school dept it sounds like the law school does much of the work of getting you into the other dept. by speaking to them on your behalf.
Duke has a strong CS department, and a strong nanotech research department, too - I'd really like to do a joint degree - probably JD/MSCS - so I'm wondering if anyone else shares my interest?
(Having asked this in the michigan thread and created a general thread about interest in AI+Law - neither of which have received any response - i'm beginning to think my desire to study CS+Law, especially w/r/t AI, is somewhat rare... but I'm shocked! I thought literally everyone was into this... but I can't find any evidence to back up that assumption.)

Not sure if this is a dumb question or not, but what exactly does priority track entail and how do you go about doing it?

It means you hear back within Ten days of turning in your application. You have to be invited to it.biv0ns wrote:Not sure if this is a dumb question or not, but what exactly does priority track entail and how do you go about doing it?

Re: In at Duke!
How do you get an invitation? (I'm a year out of applying so I'm interested.) Do you apply first and then get invited? Or does Duke seek you out and send you an email or letter or something?0L Hoping for 1 wrote:It means you hear back within Ten days of turning in your application. They seek you out. I think most of the people have been 3.7+ / 169+. Although I asked them to be on Priority Track and Dean Hoye granted it, so you don't HAVE to be sought out. But you need relatively good numbers.

Re: In at Duke!
It's a nonbinding quick decision process. Basically, if you get the invite they email you a link where you sign up with your LSAC account number. Then when you apply, they promise to have a decision within ten (business?) days. It seems to be almost a guaranteed auto-admit; I think there's only one person so far this who hasn't been admitted and they were put on priority reserve.biv0ns wrote:Not sure if this is a dumb question or not, but what exactly does priority track entail and how do you go about doing it?
If you haven't received the invite you might be able to request it; I think some people have had success emailing the admissions office and asking to be considered for PT.

About what time of year did you get the email? I'm not counting on it (high splitter) but just wondering

I got mine after September scores were released, which was weird because I only took it in June.
