+1

At least I have Vandy to soothe my concerns. I pretty much spend half my time researching Nashville and Vandy and half my time checking my status checkers. Guess I should probably concentrate on school work though.

Not PT, Been under review since either 11/10 or 11/11. Thanks!
Do you mean 10/10 or 10/11. Otherwise, holy crap that was fast.

11/10 or 11/11, I didn't have my app in at Duke until very late in October.
I've been under review since 11/9

So "Ready for review" comes before "File under review?"

No that means complete.

File under review means File under review

Yeah, I grabbed an in-state spot. I'm not so worried about Duke as I am about Michigan. I have several reasons not to like Duke: None of which are academically legitimate:

If you get a big envelope from the Dean today (for already admitted people) dont be too excited. It isnt scholarship info or anything just a copy of their Duke Law Journal and a note saying congratulations.

So it seems Dean Levi moved from Fresno to Durham huh? It's hard to imagine downgrading from Fresno, but I think he may have found a way to do it.

downgrade? Half of Fresno's run by street gangs. The Bulldogs don't even flinch at the idea of killing cops.

Out here in Cali we (un-affectionately) refer to it as FresYES!

I don't know why Durham gets such a bad rap. It's really not a bad city at all. Definitely no worse than Charlottesville or Ann Arbor.

I think it's anti-Southern bias. Charlottesville gets a pass because its country club surroundings keep away the hoi polloi.

people in California don't say "Cali" or refer to Fresno as Fresyes, you must be from the north.

I haven't been to Durham, but just going by pictures, I would say Ann Arbor looks a lot nicer. Durham looks a bit run down in some areas, whereas Ann Arbor is pretty nice all around.

Under review status date changed to today. PT since 11/3, so I am thinking today is the day :D !!

Also, you have to consider the weather differences between Ann Arbor and Durham. Durham wins that.

I am a NC native and attended undergrad in the area known as RDU (Raleigh-Durham) / the Triangle (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill). Durham is run down, old, and a little "hood". Both colleges there (Duke and North Carolina Central University) have the same type of neighborhood surrounding the campus...definitely not somewhere you decide to do your late night running/exercising outdoors.

I think alot of people assume that since it's the south crime isnt as bad or as prevalent for some reason but Durham definitely competes with Charlotte, NC which is better known and much larger. Yet, once you learn the places to avoid it's a great place. I hope to be moving back to the area :D

Eh, parts of Durham are terrible. And when George's Garage and Shooter's are the best bars in town, you know you're in hell. I will admit, though, that Cosmic is the best on-campus food I've ever had, so that's one redeeming thing about Duke. Actually, the bar scene in Palo Alto is way worse than Durham, because in Palo Alto it's essentially nonexistent, but at least you've got San Francisco nearby, and Palo Alto weather >>>>> Durham weather. Ann Arbor is a HUGE college town, so it's by nature better than Durham. And the girls in Charlottesville? Well, I'll just leave it at that.

Well yes, in fact, I am from "the north." Unlike most "northerners," though, I don't have an innate hatred for SoCal. But people up here do say "Cali," and when we make fun of my friends from Fresno, we do call it "Fresyes." So I don't know what to tell you.
