It wasn't so bad. He was actually very welcoming and straight forward. I'm not sure what's so funny. :)

Same username/password you use to get to the status checker, but they have to set your access privileges first. You'll get an email when it's done.

I just talked to the folks at the admissions office about deposit deadlines since that info was lacking the acceptance packet... First $400 deposit is due this Friday the 22nd, and the second deposit of $600 (incrementally refundable) is due on June 1st... It sounds like they might be a little flexible if you have some sort of special circumstances, but they do want to keep the process moving along since they're still making decisions.

Oracle--since you were in the same batch of acceptances as I, I think you might have the same deposit deadline this Friday.

I emailed admissions yesterday inquiring about the same thing (and other bits of important info not provided in the spiral book or letter.) Haven't heard back yet so thanks for the info. I'll put my check for a cool grand in the mail tomorrow morning.

Hey guys. Ok so BLS just gave me a lil over 21K annually if I stay in the top 40% of the class. This is a big problem now because if I get off the waitlist at Fordham and they don't offer anything, what the hell do I do? Give up all that money and pay sticker for Fordham? If it was someone asking me for a suggestion about this, I would say take Fordham and run with it, but it's hard when you are on the other side. What do you think?

Yes, absolutely yes, without a question, without any hesitation or compunction. I know that paying sticker is terrifying (trust me, I'll be doing it myself), but the thought of you taking this BLS scholarship over Fordham really is too horrific to contemplate. Even if there were no stipulations at all, it would be a lousy deal. Why should the school be allowed to benefit from your scores without guaranteeing you aid for all three years? I'm going to have nightmares about this unless you swear to me you won't do it.

You may have already survived the purging of the waitlist, and if this is so, according to the dean, you stand a very good chance of being admitted.

Just so that OS the Fordham troll (hi OS, I love you, but u are a Fordham troll), isn't the only one giving you an opinion. GO TO FORDHAM OVER BLS. However, that being said, since you haven't gotten into Fordham yet, it is not an actual option. So, for now, what is your other choice if not BLS? If you get into Fordham, go to Fordham, no doubt in my mind.

As Hoff pointed out, my notoriety for Fordham trolling is so great that I was recently voted #1 new troll on TLS. It was a tremendous honor.

That said, I hope you will heed both of us upon this very important point! Please tell us your other options, though. Have you heard from Cardozo, or any schools outside the NYC area?

I only applied to NYC schools. I'm married and work in a law firm so getting out of the city is not an option at all. I turned down St. John's who would have probably given me a fully paid law school education. NYU and Columbia denied me. Now it's between BLS and Fordham. I will probably end up in Fordham, if they accept me. Of course, if they don't, I'll go to BLS. The question was just in order for me to get some input before d-day arrives. And OS, I knew I could count on you to tell me that I should pick Fordham, if offered the opportunity, no matter what. THANK YOU!!!!! You Fordham super-troll!!!!! :P :D

Get in quick and come join us! :D :D

My views about BLS are well known by now. I wish you'd applied to Cardozo as a contingency plan, but you are just going to have to get into Fordham now. There are no two ways about this.

Like my classmate, I'll be paying sticker. I didn't apply to BLS (see my well known views), but I turned down 15k a year from Cardozo.

<3 always, Troll #1 of TLS!

Fordham is currently reviewing both FT and PT Wait List. I talked with Dean Brown this week.

My application is considered for both FT and PT right now.

I say Fordham as well.
If BLS guaranteed 21K/year without any strings attached AND if you don't have too much interest in big law, then BLS might have been a better choice.
But then again, I'm a bit biased about Fordham so oh wellz...

there was a waitlist purge?

How were those that were purged notified?
