I'll take review any time, since it leaves open the possibility of direct admission, however small.

If still under review:
- you could be accepted with scholarship $ after the scholarship deadlines though unlikely (+2)
- you could be accepted (+1)
- you could be WL (+0)
- you could be rejected (-1)

If waitlisted:
- you could be accepted (+1)
- you could be rejected (-1)

I'd say it's more favorable to be under review still.

As I understand, many schools have started re-reviewing the applications as of April 15 or the date of the first seat deposits. My question is whether their is some sort of priority for pending apps over waitlisted apps or if the waitlisted apps are even a part of that "re-reviewing" process? And also, in what amount of time should we (those apps still pending) be hearing from the adcomms?

What do you think USD is doing with my app? Complete since 11/11

Keep in mind I have a WL at Loyola, which is slightly comparable.

Id say you get in soon; they just accepted someone on the 16th with lower numbers then you... prolly just taking their sweet ass time. Try calling the admissions office

Chapman. Application finalized February 1st.....still in review.

Hmm, they were URM though. I could call the office, but I feel like they are inundated lately because their process is taking so long.

IMO, better to be on a waitlist. Many schools look at applications not on first-come-first-serve, but based on index. If you haven't been reviewed yet, and the deadline for the school has passed some time ago, then its likely you aren't high on their index.

Waiting from USC. Complete mid-late October. 166/3.24, 2 years WE. Long shot at best.

Apparently at John Marshall Chicago, being on the waitlist is better. According to LSN, all of the waitlisted people were accepted last week, or have been accepted by now. The only thing I can think of for why this might have happened is that they might have used their "waitlist" as a preferred group of applicants over those applications still pending. This really makes me uneasy, especially since I have yet to hear from them

. Does anyone else have any incite?

I am wondering the same thing. Echoing the sentiments of a poster in the "Who Did you Hear From" forum, the fact that adcoms at some schools are essentially double-dipping some applications (WLers) before even giving an initial decision to others is simply unfair.

Depends on your numbers, I think. I'm a low-LSAT/high-GPA splitter, and a couple of the highest-ranked schools where I had less than a 50% chance of getting in have gotten back to me with acceptances only in the last couple weeks or so. I'd imagine that they'd also look at the apps they haven't reviewed yet before the waitlist. But who knows.

dont know whether to waitlist and potentially wait until august or stay in review and get a response sometime soon

if they haven't:

1. accepted,
2. rejected, or
3. waitlested

you as of now (mid-late april), you are going to be:

1. waitlisted,
2. rejected, or
3. accepted

in that order of ascending probability.
