Ok, now it is official. Hofstra status checker goes blank once they make a decision whether you were accepted or rejected. I confirmed with someone who got rejected and was told that his/her status checker just went blank before he/she received the denial letter.

I'm in the same boat, mine's been blank since 1/15/09...I called twice, once on the 15th and she said that "you should hear VERY soon"

Called back on the 22nd, using a 'change of email on file' as my excuse...then brought up the online status again and they said I should be hearing within the next 2 weeks.
Grrrrrrrrrrrr

My went blank about a week ago. Applied 12/16, my numbers are 154/3.25. I called and the guy said I should be getting a letter tomorrow or Monday. I personally don't like speculation as much as anyone else, but the wait is killing me. What do you guys think my chances are?

Thanks

Law school admissions is a game. I've made it this far with Hofstra. Got nothing to lose by jumping through a few more hoops.

Got my acceptance letter today, but no mention of scholarship money. Did those of you who received scholarship offers get them with the acceptance letter?

Hey guys, has anyone received any email correspondence from Hofstra on 2/2/09? My status checker still says that my file is with admissions committee but there is a new entry under Correspondence saying that something was communicated to me on 2/2/09. I emailed them about it but they are yet to get back to me. Can it mean that my decision was mailed since I didn't receive an email?

I would imagine that's true. When my status checker was blank for a few weeks, I called to clarify the situation. They told me my admissions decision was made, and it was waiting to be mailed. I didn't have the correspondence thing, though.

I like how you apparently thought this person was guessing what your result would be rather than announcing his/ her own result

Me too. Wondering when I'll hear back, especially since my status date had said 2/5/09 for almost a week now.

I was thinking about calling them tomorrow to try and get a sense of when the next batch of letters will be going out. I wish that there was some sort of correlation between blank status and acceptance, yet there obviously isn't. Good luck, and I'll post back if I end up calling.

Jeisner, I called them a little while ago. I was told that a decision has been made and I should receive a letter within a week. Same probably holds true for you.

Update:

My status checker went blank 1/28.

I received an acceptance today w/$$.

3.25 GPA required to maintain scholarship. I don't know how Hofstra curves?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
