Yeah I got my acceptance letter this morning.
It seems several people got their letters today. I'm quite annoyed seeing as how I live a couple of blocks away and haven't gotten anything.
I now think the mail man is trying to torture me.

Damn, nothing today. I think that I should have it tomorrow.. I live in South Florida, and don't think that it would take too long to get here.

I'll let you guys know.

I'm not sure what my first choice is, but if I get accepted to UF, I will probably attend that school.

It still says "all required documents recieved" for me, as it has for a month or so now. Today a friend of mine asked me how to go about paying the app fee for UF when it dawned on me that I don't think I paid it. But, if I didn't pay it then how does it say that I have all of the required documents in? Would that be possible if I didn't pay? I asked my roommate, who is also applying to UF, and he told me he got an email a while back with a link to a website where he had to go to submit all of his information again and pay the app fee and all of that. I never got that email and I never went to that website, yet my status still shows "all documents recieved" and it even lists me as a FL resident although I never formally filled out any residency forms. I called the admissions office and they said they couldn't really help me and transferred me to the registrar, who I had to leave a message with.. Anybody with any ideas on what could be going on?

Hmm, you definitely can't pay it through LSAC. I got the same thing as your room mate, an e-mail to follow the instructions on line and pay it. I don't know why the admissions office couldn't tell you if you payed the fee or not. That seems like something they should know. Could you have possibly gotten a fee waiver and not known about it? I'm not sure how else you would go complete without paying the fee. The registrar's office at UF is notoriously horrible so keep calling. I'd be pretty shocked if they actually called you back.

mdd05d, I also have "all required documents recieved" and I'm sure that I haven't paid them yet. I haven't received this email with instructions on how to pay either. I applied on 11/21, or around there.

Well, why did you leave?
I did well my first year, and wanted to go to a school with a) national portability and b) a reasonable shot at academia.

I transferred to Michigan after my first year. I'm reluctant to release my class rank, but will say my class rank was not an outlier of those who transfer to top schools.

For more info, please see the database on the 'transferapps' yahoo group.

Mine always said "All required documents received" and never said complete or anything like that.

Could you be more specific on "a reasonable shot at academia"? I understand the lack of national portability though..

Becoming a tenured non-skills teaching law professor is probably one of the most difficult things you can do with a JD. A degree from UF all but shuts down the traditional path to academia -- i.e. clerkship, better clerkship, AALS meat market.

A degree from Mich increases the likelihood of a prestigious federal clerkship and the track to academia. Even with monster grades at the top of the class at Mich, a COA clerkship, and an LR editor position (which I will lack), the odds are stacked against me.
