Re: University of Florida
I have been "Reviewed by committee; decision pending" since 2/12, and the wait is killing me. If I get another waitlist I'm going to be so sad since I have make a decision here and send seat deposits by 4/1-4/15. I was held at FSU so guess I should expect something similar eh? I hope they make a decision soon.

Yes, for me it does. When I was admitted to Santa Clara it also said that, until my status changed to Decision Letter Sent. After that it listed the Seat Deposit Amount, which was a sign I had been admitted. Just wondering if UF does something similar.wiggsb wrote:Does it say: Seat Deposit Received: 0.00 .00traehekat wrote:Just curious - for those who have been admitted, when your status changed to decision letter in transit, did an amount of money appear near the bottom next where it says "Seat Deposit Received"? Just wondering because in the case of Santa Clara if an amount appeared by the seat deposit information it generally meant you were accepted.

168/3.71 nothing scholarship wise after being accepted 1/27. Grr.traehekat wrote:Decision letter in transit! 3/5
Hope it is good news...
Sorry if this has been answered, but does anyone know anything about scholarship information? Have people been receiving money with their acceptance letters, or has it come separately, or not at all yet?

I was accepted 12/2 and received a scholarship notification via snail mail on 12/16 (168/3.8x).set88 wrote:168/3.71 nothing scholarship wise after being accepted 1/27. Grr.traehekat wrote:Decision letter in transit! 3/5

Still DP since 12/17, though UF isn't really on the radar anymore for schools I want to attend less they send me a great scholarship package if I were to be accepted.

Wow, that's rather shocking. They probably ran out of money and are waiting until the scholarship offer response deadline of April 1st before offering up additional offers.set88 wrote:168/3.71 nothing scholarship wise after being accepted 1/27. Grr.

I've had that message since day 1. Unless they've been planning on accepting me all this time and are just making me wait, I'd say that it doesn't mean diddly.
I think he's asking if anyone has an amount listed by Seat Deposit Amount (other than 0.00). If it was to say "Seat Deposit Amount Due- $200.00", it would be a sign that the individual was admitted.
Regardless, I don't think UF updates this on the status checker. I haven't heard of anyone that has a dollar amount other than 0.00 for Seat Deposit.

Re: University of Florida
Is there at all a pattern that anyone knows of for status/decision updates.
EDIT: Like do they typically send decisions out on friday, etc. There was probably a much better way to say that^ lol.

I've seen recent decisions on various days of the week... Thursday 2/25 and Monday 3/1 have been the days the first rejection batches went Decision in Transit. I think I remember some DITs from Tuesday 2/2 as well. I went RC;DP on a Thursday (2/11).
Additionally, status updates tend to occur in the late afternoon... 3pm-5pm.
Clearly I check mine excessively...

Hey guys- I received an acceptance letter today (I live about an hour from Gainesville). My DIT updated 3/5. Also, I was decision pending since 2/14, so don't lose hope!

Numbers? I live in Miami and no mail, beginning to think it's a rejection/waitlist. :/lexi6650 wrote:Hey guys- I received an acceptance letter today (I live about an hour from Gainesville). My DIT updated 3/5. Also, I was decision pending since 2/14, so don't lose hope!

Congrats! Does anyone know if acceptances/waitlists/rejections have come out in "groups?" Like, for those who went DIT 3/5, are those all going to be acceptances, or a mix?lexi6650 wrote:Hey guys- I received an acceptance letter today (I live about an hour from Gainesville). 159/3.84. (Not the best LSAT, I know.) I think if your status updated to DIT on 3/5, you will be getting in if you haven't heard anything yet. If you look at this thread back in March of 2009, most people who were admitted received their packets about a week after their status updated to DIT.fcowrx wrote:Numbers? Decison pending 2/14 DLIT 3/5. I think 3/5 DLIT is money for most people.ChattTNdt wrote:farewelltoarms wrote:yay! got acceptance letter today in Jacksonville Fl. Wow estimated cost for 1st year of attendance,( including food, rent, utilities and all that jazz) 27452 dollars. G'Damn.

If "G'Damn." means "Wow, what a steal!", then yes. Generally speaking, you aren't going to avoid paying food, rent, utilities, and all that jazz unless you decide to hunker down in your parents' basement for the long haul or take to the woods doing only what you must to survive. As far as real world cost of living goes, you can't get much cheaper than Gainesville's. Half of the $27,452 is cost of living. Tuition is unbelievably low, given UF's rank. Just look at what the UC schools charge for in-state tuition. The University of South Carolina, ranked 87th, charges $5,000 more than UF for in-state tuition. Actually, I challenge you to find me any law school that charges significantly less than UF. As for the "but some schools cost less after scholarships" argument - what are those other schools ranked? And as for the "OMG, HE WAS JUST COMMENTING ON HOW EXPENSIVE LAW SCHOOL IS, YOU JERK" nonsense that has to be coming at some point - whoever has gotten to this point has to be expected to have come to terms with the fact that law school is a genuine investment.farewelltoarms wrote:Wow estimated cost for 1st year of attendance,( including food, rent, utilities and all that jazz) 27452 dollars.
