Supposedly towards the end of Dec within 3 weeks of acceptance.

Delray! That's where my grandmother lives... that's AARP Country.

I think my biggest problem with Miami is the beer selection down there, which is dismal at best.

No idea, lol. For me, the hoppier the beer, the better it tastes. Then again, I'm a snob when it comes to beer (it is my job, after all). From what I've heard though, there's an incredibly good beer store in Boca, which is pretty far from Coral Gables.

I'm currently residing in Boca and although I do not know about this beer store, there is a great microbrewery right next to the UM Campus in 'Gables. It's called "Titanic" and it's popular with students and faculty.

On another note, has anyone heard any information regarding merit scholarships yet? Thanks!

I just got an email sayin I've been awarded a scholarship and that there is a letter in the mail indicating how much it's for. This certainly makes things interesting...

Dude, the entire state of Florida is AARP Country, don't discriminate.

If you think Miami doesn't have an army of elderly Jewish ladies that are going to turn your quick trip to Publix into a three hour ordeal, you have another thing coming to you. I'm not even going to touch upon the drivers.

Same with Boca, Coral Gables, Palm Beach, FTL, etc, etc, etc...

Delray actually has a very vibrant young community, go to the hip, lively downtown area and you would see for yourself. What's that? Your grandmother didn't show you around to where all the young people hang out? I'm shocked...

Anybody getting scholarship offers feel free to post your stats, if you don't mind of course

..UM is expensive so it'd be a much stronger consideration with some help! I want to see where I stand as far as that goes...

Does the scholarship info/ the fact you got a scholarship show up on your online account by any chance? If so, where?

Yes,I got a regular acceptance letter by mail and not by email. The recent email people are talking about is for scholarships but most haven't received the regular mail of the scholarship offer so they're curious as to if the information can be found on the website. Hope that helps.

I don't think anyone got accepted via email, just the scholarship info. I was able to see my acceptance online by creating a CaneID and then seeing "congratulation, you've been admitted" or something like that once I did it.

Mine got trapped in the "spam" folder in Gmail, make sure to check that. It didn't tell me I was admitted; it told me to log on and create a username/password. Then when I logged on, there was a "Congratulations, you've been accepted" type of page.

See, you obviously have no idea what you're talking about, us younger people play Scrabble!

In all seriousness though, Delray is actually a pretty cool little town for people in their 20's/30's. And I moved here with my last apartment being in midtown Manhattan. Like I said, you need to know where to go, your grandma's community center just isn't the hot spot anymore these days...
