..UM is expensive so it'd be a much stronger consideration with some help! I want to see where I stand as far as that goes...

See, you obviously have no idea what you're talking about, us younger people play Scrabble!
In all seriousness though, Delray is actually a pretty cool little town for people in their 20's/30's. And I moved here with my last apartment being in midtown Manhattan. Like I said, you need to know where to go, your grandma's community center just isn't the hot spot anymore these days...
Believe it or not, Downtown Delray is actually my favorite place in South Florida. Feels like a miniature version of a 'real city' (coming from someone who wishes he could live in Manhattan, haha). Good area to walk around, good restaurants, some good bars/nightclubs.

does anyone know when the latest day before new years is that they'd probably notify people of acceptances?

Just got my scholarship letter, one day after getting the email. I live about an hour north of the school, so I guess that's why it came so quick. They are offering me $23,000 a year as part of the Dean's Merit Scholarship contingent on a 3.00 (B) average. Quite a generous scholarship.
It's interesting that I've been accepted, offered a scholarship, and in general heard fairly regularly from Miami while some schools have only contacted me ONE time thus far to tell me they received my application (months ago). Certainly gives me a good impression of Miami having it "together".

Just be careful they don't stick you in section B. That's where they try to stick all the scholly students and grade them right out of their scholarships...

Thank you and expect a call tomorrow nvoight. She's very nice as well! That makes tuition only 3,090 more a year than UGA. Something to think about...

I got an email from Miami that my scholarship is $23,000 per year. This certainly makes my choice more difficult. I'm def gonna visit soon. I'm thinking of going to Toronto, then down to Miami, and back to Milwaukee the 2nd week of January

Just got the 23K offer. After getting deferred by GMU, it makes me think hard right now about Miami as money is going to be important for me. I'm definitely going to have to give the school a visit and see what I think about the area. Good luck to everyone else!

it seems like a lot of us are going to be in miami soon. i'll be there from the 7th-10th, then key west til the 23rd, then back to miami til whenever.
this is why i chose to take a year off before law school. so i could say "bye job, i'm road-tripping indefinitely. laters."

Yeah the only reason I threw in app in at the school was b/c I'll be on vacation there from the 5th to the 8th. Then I'm headed to New Hampshire and Boston, where I'm also looking at schools. lmao. The funny part is the schools I want to go to are Minnesota and Madison.
