This is most likely the case. I got the email/online status check acceptance on Dec. 27th but JUST got my paper acceptance yesterday (the 7th) and no word on scholarship yet.

Got my 23k/yr. scholarship today.. The letter that they sent doesn't seem to preclude one from receiving a more prestigious scholarship in the near future (i.e., before school begins) does it? Or am I reading the letter the wrong way?

I just got the scholarship e-mail... how long should I expect it to take to get the letter in the mail?

Is there anyway you can get them to tell you how much it is for before the letter comes?

Is it pretty easy for students to find affordable housing near the school?

You need a car to get around. Parking spots are extremely difficult to find. Otherwise great.

I basically have the same stats, what was your scholly offer? (you can PM me if you want), also, where else did you apply?

I don't think you need a car.... i traveled from north beach and made it there. It was a bit hard to figure out at first, but the system isn't all that bad.

And the recruiting director mentioned the parking was a mess....

You need a car in Miami. I've been living here for 4 years and without a car your options are limited: not many places to go, not much freedom, etc. I suppose you can make friends with someone who has a car, but having your own would be the best.

Ah... I suppose that makes sense. You're not JUST going to law school unless you dont have a life. Good points!

If you decide to go to Miami and you are staying in Coral Gables, then you have a lot of hangout places around. Even if you dedicate most of your time to law school, every now and then you will want to go to places and get to know South Florida, specially if you are not from here. You need a car to do those things. I wouldn't recommend you taking the metrorail late at night. Parking is a mess everywhere in Miami!!! MAke sure you always have some quarters for the metered parking

Yeah I got there from South Beach pretty smoothly, but I will def be brining my car if I go there.

Hey Folks, I got my scholly info. $23,000 a year.

There was also a list of other scholarships enclosed. The other scholarships mentioned an interview weekend that would need to be attended to get these scholarships. Does anyone know anything more about this? Do I need an invite? Do I need to show interest or make a commitment to matriculate? Any information would be great, thanks.

Miami accepted me three weeks before sending me an acceptance package or sending me any e-mails whatsoever. I found out by creating a profile for myself at https://myum.miami.edu/. A few days after my account was created I logged in and saw a congratulatory message. It's the closest thing UM offers to a status checker. Good luck!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
