Post by thatscoutpl » Tue Sep 11, 2018 11:54 pm

Welcome, WUSTL Class of 2022 Applicants!

I figured I'd start a thread for applicants to WUSTL. Some general WUSTL Info:

Application fee $70
Completed Applications 4114
Offers of Admission 1107
Acceptance Rate (Percent) 26.91%
Enrollees from Applicant pool 204
Enrollment rate from Completed Applications 4.96%
Enrollment rate from Offers of Admission 18.43%

LSAT
75th Percentile 169
50th Percentile 168
25th Percentile 161

UGPA
75th Percentile 3.86
50th Percentile 3.74
25th Percentile 3.37

Feel free to post questions or information. My hope is that we can all come together here to help each other out, compile our thoughts and data, and give ourselves the best chance possible at acceptance!

Had my interview last week. The interviewer was nice and motivating about WashU as a top school. She really asked me questions about my personal statement and it turned into a conversation from there. She said that she wrote up her report and sent off the the admissions committee... so now I wait. Good luck everyone.

**edit** my LSAT is above 75th; 50 > GPA >75

also a question. Does anyone know typically how long after acceptances they send financial info? Thanks :)

I submitted my application Saturday and got an interview request Monday. I was shocked by how quickly it went. I'm going to interview when I visit campus in a couple weeks. Is an interview request still considered basically a soft acceptance for WUSTL?

Did any of you fill out the "additional comments for the admissions committee" box, or attach a financial aid addendum? Thanks!

I didn't. I felt like most of it was covered in my personal statement and diversity statement, so it felt redundant to me

Hey guys. I just had interview with Wash U. and previous posts say that the interview invitation is a good sign of admissions.

People seemed to get a hint at the end of the interview on when they'll be hearing back. In my case, the dean said there was surge in applicaiton pool and the process may take a while. Is this a bad sign????. I'm worried people@

Congrats! It looks like it took 2-3 weeks for you to receive your decision after your interview. I had my Skype interview yesterday, and was wondering about how soon to excpect any news.

Depends on your hard/soft factors. If you get a response within 2-3 weeks from just about any school, it's likely because your hard factors were at or above the 75th percentiles. Of course, I don't think any of the posters serve as dean of admissions anywhere-- I could be wrong-- so we're all just making educated guesses lol.

Moving away from guesswork: I had my interview on Sep 24th, and I haven't heard back. My soft factors are great (10.5 years in the military, professional awards, volunteering, etc), but at a 3.82 GPA and 165 LSAT, it's not surprising I haven't heard back yet.

Pipedream - That’s a good point. My numbers are pretty similar to yours: 4.0 GPA/164 LSAT/4 years work experience. I got a pretty quick acceptance from William and Mary, so I hoped WashU would be similar. Btw - thanks for your service! I’ve met a lot of vets in the oil and gas industry.

Thanks. I was accepted to GMU within two weeks of submitting, but I'm hoping the soft factors have at least a little influence with my top choices. I feel like I have good chances at WUSTL, but it could take a particularly military-friendly reviewer at NW and Chicago

Is anyone else still waiting for a response after a September interview?

I applied Sep 1 and interviewed Sep 24, but I haven't heard anything since. Looking through the last couple years of TLS threads, it seems like most people received a response within two or three weeks of their interviews, and those that didn't were forgotten about

I interviewed Friday. I really loved campus and the law school in particular. Everyone in admissions was really nice too. I highly recommend it for anyone who is debating visiting.

The email thanking me for my interview gave me a heart attack though.

I''m curious too see how quickly people receive admission decisions after their interviews. As mentioned, the last couple years of threads here seem to suggest 2-3 weeks average, with a few going a couple weeks over. But there were also a few that just seemed to be forgotten about, and when one of those people emailed WUSTL, they received their acceptance within a few hours.

I'm really hoping I don't fall into that category (though I wouldn't mind the acceptance part lol)

I applied ED on 10/15 and the first time I saw they received all my materials was 10/19. They say on their website that you'll know if you get in early
or pushed to regular within 2 weeks of them receiving all your materials.

I interviewed with them on 10/29 so I should know by the end of this week. Fingers crossed! I really need the full tuition scholarship and stipend would
be great (obviously)!

Have there been any instances on here of someone being rejected after an interview? I've never seen any, but I don't stalk these threads either. I'm afraid I'm getting my hopes too high.
