Emory c/o 2021 Applicants
Didn't see this in a search and figured it would be worth starting.
I'm above the 75th LSAT and below the 25th GPA, I went complete on September 1st.

Emory doesn't have a status checker, right?

I noticed on LSN that someone already got accepted a few days ago, and I started to get excited. Then I realized that they applied ED.

Hey, I'm the guy who applied ED and was accepted. I'm really excited about Emory. I lived in ATL for 3 years after graduating college (working in software and consulting). I don't know any more about the law school than other 0L's, except that the turnaround was really quick on ED. The admissions team has been extremely welcoming and professional. I am a huge fan of Atlanta and can answer questions about living in the city. For reference, I grew up in Boston and am now living in NYC.

It's annoying how much later Emory notifies applicants especially considering I'm already here for undergrad lol. Wish I could just pop over to the law school and just find out. I wonder what their thinking is for releasing so late.

Hey, it had a reminder about applying for their named scholarship, which had slipped my mind. Not that I'm a likely candidate, but it's worth fishing.TedBuckland wrote:Email from Emory, hopes go up, just a newsletter about the school, furiously deletes email out of spite

Hey everyone! I'm a current 1L at Emory and I remember (quite distinctly) being in your shoes around this time last year. I'm more than happy to answer any questions you might have about the school or the application process.
FWIW: I applied with a 173/3.2 and got a near-full ride (I didn't apply for the Woodruff and I sincerely regret it - I would encourage all of you to apply for it even if you don't think you stand a chance).

Re: Emory c/o 2021 Applicants
Emory only taking two LORs made it easy to go back and ask my third recommender to nominate me for the Woodruff. I don't think I have very good odds, but like you say, the chance is worth taking.floatie wrote:Hey everyone!
