Also put a hold on 12/8, no update yet. I guess held applicants are getting looked at already?

I just got an email not too long ago saying that my decision would be posted by the end of the business day today. I don't know how widely that was sent out, but it must show some signs of movement.

Sorry to hear that :( I wonder if it has to do with more applicants this cycle..?

Yeah it must be, unless there was something wrong with my app. I'm not so much mad or upset as I am confused. On all accounts, my application was much better this year, including a Why W&L, updated LOR's and submitted earlier in the cycle. My numbers were far from being a lock for admissions, but I never would have thought that I would take a step backwards.

Agreed. Do you think they considered transcript updates yet? I sent a letter of continued interest after I got held, but LSAC didn’t process my updated grades until yesterday

Forgot to update...was accepted Dec 23rd I believe with a 120k scholarship. Pretty happy about this one, especially as its the only school that required that I fully disclose my C&F issues to that has accepted me.

Checking in everyone!

Long time reading these boards and first couple of posts here :)

Went complete on 1/17! Hoping to go under review and hear back soon - W&L is one of my top choices, known several friends to have gone there and truly loved the experience.

Anyone have any input regarding the rural aspect of W&L? I understand that many students like to have that ability of working an internship after class, etc. An opportunity that is not as readily available at W&L. But, I'm not sure how mandatory having that capability would be to my success in landing a job. Really like a lot about W&L, but haven't really been able to gauge the level of necessity when it comes to going to school near job opportunities. I understand that there are summers and the 3L year to get that outside experience, but don't want to short-change myself if I need the extra opportunities.

Applied on 12/27, in review since 1/2. No date changes, no emails. I've grown a beard since I applied.

I was curious about this too. I'm really happy with pretty much everything else about W&L but I'm not thrilled about its location...

IN! $37.5k/yr too...might be my best $$$ offer yet relative to school ranking. I will definitely be there for a visit at some point. 7/7 this cycle so far is a confidence boost.

Hello everyone!

In as well with 37.5k scholarship. How open do you think they are to negotiate? They have dropped several positions in the rank this year and I have an equal scholarship offer from a better ranked school.

Hey, so I'm a 3L here at W&L and am happy to answer this and any other questions anyone may have. While W&L is in a small town there are lots of job opportunities both during and after school. That said, the first two years of law school are hard and I promise you won't have tons of free time to work jobs no matter where you go to school. At W&L, we do have three clinics (Virginia Capital Case Clearinghouse, the Immigrants Rights Clinic, and the Tax Clinic) that you can do as a 2L, I ended up doing the Virginia Capital Case Clearinghouse my 2L year and am now doing the Criminal Justice Clinic for my third-year experience. Lots of other students in their third year work for prosecutors, clerk for federal judges in the surrounding areas, do various externships, or spend the semester in DC. In terms of post-law school employment, I haven't had any trouble finding positions. My 1L summer I ended up working for a professor's daughter in New Orleans at my dream job despite never having been to Louisiana. During my 2L year I secured post-grad employment in Kentucky (8 hours away). W&L prepares you for any job market and our Office of Career Strategy helps you get where you want to be. If you want any more information, please PM me!

In today via email with scholarship info in the status checker. Went under review 1/5. Anyone else considering one of the admitted student open houses? Their travel reimbursement is pretty generous, so I am going to make the trip.
