I’m honestly very curious where Michigan gets this kind of money!! 80+% get an offer of some sort, and Darrow interviews are booked for two straight weeks. And people without Darrow invites are still getting 90-150k as if that’s a casual scholarship amount. That’s crazy for a public university, and they seem to perhaps be the most generous school in the T13.Ntp73821 wrote: I felt that my offer was very generous!

So once we do receive a $$$ offer, at what point is it okay to start trying to negotiate up? I've already gotten hefty schollys from other schools but feel like it might be in bad taste to counter back with that right away. I love Mich so I hope they can distribute lots of dough.

Can someone explain the Darrow thing? I assume its a full scholarship interview? What happens if you don't get the Darrow, what would your scholarship be?principalagent wrote:I’m honestly very curious where Michigan gets this kind of money!! 80+% get an offer of some sort, and Darrow interviews are booked for two straight weeks. Re: Michigan Law c/o 2021 Applicants
The last bit! You sound like a fine candidate to me, and it seems like you're having a pretty good cycle so far! I mean, yeah, work experience would probably make you even MORE attractive (and tbh, I would recommend a couple years of work experience to everyone before law school), but I don't think this is anything to worry about. Did you submit a Why Michigan? If not, that's maybe the only thing you might consider throwing them, with a line in there about how your family is there (to establish ties to the area - I remember last cycle when my gf was applying and seh got into Michigan, the biggest thing Michigan was trying to sell her on was actually living in Ann Arbor as opposed to anywhere else, so I bet them knowing you have ties to the area already would be beneficial). Otherwise, hold tight - this seems to be a slow cycle for all of us.steadfastness11 wrote:I went complete 11/1 with a 168, but have been ghosted since. I guess this silence indicates that a ding is coming. I did take the December LSAT and got 172 tho.
This dead silence is making me worried that it is a caveat for some red flags in my applications. I am a K-JD, National but no numerical GPA, average softs ( focused volunteering work and school leadership, just an average softs for k-jd, with no internship) , I found a typo in my PS though I swear I read it more than 50 times. Maybe all these factors are making me a poor candidate. I would be really stoked to get in to UofM with $$$since my family lives there. What do you think is hurting my chances in getting in( or making me underperform my stats). I got into Cornell, Wustl, gulc, Vanderbilt. but for Cornell I only got a very very small amount of $ which I also think shows that there is something wrong with my applications. If the lack of WE is what’s pulling me down, I am thinking of getting a job. Or do I just need to calm down?
But also, you're not wrong for being anxious, it's totally normal!

I don't see anything about a travel stipend, does Michigan generally not do that?NavyNuke wrote:Just registered for the first ASW Really excited to get up there and check out AA!
They do heavily subsidize hotel rooms ($20/night for a shared room).

I applied 11/15, went complete 12/1. But I did retake in December (Michigan received the score 12/25).AMcJV12 wrote:LSATuration wrote:In this morning via status checker! That's awesome you guys! Just got in via email/status checker! Out of curiosity, how are people getting scholarship info? Does it come in the package?

I got mine via email, about 2 weeks after I got the initial email about my acceptance. The package itself had no word about scholarships.dallinpackard wrote:Just got in via email/status checker! Out of curiosity, how are people getting scholarship info? Does it come in the package?

Does the status checker update after “complete?”

It does update when a decision has been reached (as the key below suggests).CottonHarvest wrote:Does the status checker update after “complete?”

On the Facebook page they said they subsidize the rooms and the food while you're there is covered, but any travel aid is need-based and must be applied for.Ntp73821 wrote:Wondering this too... I live pretty far away from Michigan, but I really want to go.Bojack93 wrote:

Lol I'm in the FB page and have no idea how I missed this. Thanks for the heads up, I'll go look at the need-based form.NavyNuke wrote: On the Facebook page they said they subsidize the rooms and the food while you're there is covered, but any travel aid is need-based and must be applied for.
