Checking in! My top choice

If I apply ED, do I still need to write the Why Berkeley essay?

ED is binding, so I think applying ED is more sincere than any Why Berkeley essay could ever be. Essay wouldn't hurt, but it's icing on the cake.

Just got a fee waiver as well. Wasn't expecting this...thought they only gave need-based waivers to those who apply.

Got the unsolicited waiver as well. I'm a week away from applying so this is certainly good news.

I wish Columbia sent them out as well! I pulled the trigger and paid the $85 to apply

I was surprised to get an unsolicited fee waiver from Berkeley today, because I'm a 175/2.7 extreme splitter. Are you sure they can see my GPA through CRS? I don't know if they've changed their policies on GPA or if they're just trying to game their yield, but I guess I might as well apply now.

I'm almost certain they see your GPA in CRS because if they didn't, I wouldn't have gotten one today lol

Checking in!

Got the unsolicited fee waiver today.

Not very optimistic about my chances, but there seems to be speculation they might be more splitter-friendly this cycle so who knows?

Did anybody on the West Coast/in California get a waiver?

So far, nobody in Cali has gotten one... At least, to my knowledge.

My stats are 164/3.93. I'm a K-JD from MA. Maybe they just haven't finished sending them out? I was shocked to see it because I was not expecting any from t25 schools, never mind Berkeley.

Hey we have the same LSAT! I feel better every time I see someone on here with the same score as me.

Why weren't you expecting any waivers from T25 schools? I would think that those stats would make you competitive at the lower T13's, if not higher. Good luck from a fellow reverse-splitter!

I'm hoping that they were just starting out on the East Coast and working their way back west. Would love to not have to pay that application fee!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
