I think they interview everyone now. Except maybe if the person has already met an admissions officer somewhere or something like that.

Me too, especially when I applied the same day as OakBrook  perhaps its just yield protect and/or a way to gauge interest
99% sure WUSTL's whole enrollment strategy is to never ever yield protect.

Were all admitted folks' first deposit and second deposit boxes checked after receiving the admission email? I was in via email only last Friday and of course haven't paid anything, but they're both checked. Secretly hoping it's a sign of receiving scholarship... :P

Yeah, that makes sense. Do they just interview everyone then?
During my interview I thanked her for interviewing me and she said “of course! We interview everyone” so yes, I believe so

Since I'm totally naive, what do they ask and how much does the interview last?

It was really casual. Just things you'd expect, why law school, what you know about WUSTL, areas of interest. They expect you to have questions too.

read the OP. I have some of their interview questions highlighted there. Just know your resume well and don't be awkward. This means pausing while you think and not just stammering. Also, come prepared with intelligent questions to ask them to show you care about their school and that you've researched it.

Interviewing soon and grateful for these tips!

Those of you who interviewed after applying, did they ask about your PS or app components?

They didn't ask me about my ps but I did get a question that I could tell was based on a C&F issue with my app.

Short answer for me is no.

I interviewed before and after applying, both times with Asst. Dean Mary Ann Clifford. The first time (on-campus) it was more in depth about my background, interest in law, career goals, and why I applied to WashU. It also included a healthy dose of her discussing the school's offerings and how they aligned with the interests and goals I have. The second interview was more of a check-in to see if my situation had changed and to refresh her on my reasons for law school/WashU.

The second interview she also emphasized WashU and the opportunity to pursue federal clerkships even though I had not mentioned them as part of my goals in any of my application materials. This may be a bold statement, but I interpreted this as a sign that WashU wants to increase their Fed. Clerkship placement and is specifically pitching that as an option early on in the process like Duke did when Dean Levi took the reigns. That may not be the case, but it seemed like a very specific endeavor to emphasize if not.

Yeah I interviewed back in July when they mass mailed the June takers. It takes like 20 minutes and it was more of a conversation

I got the same feel re: gunning for clerkships. I mentioned that is my primary goal and my interviewer jumped all over it, and talked about how that is an area they want to improve over the next few years.

They waived my app fee three times (hidden + automatic e-mail + personal e-mail with ass. dean after an inquiry)... How could I say no? 8)

I doubt (and hope) this has too big an effect on our cycle, but it for sure will in the next few years.

Proud to be in the last generation of worthless apathetic people who are good test-takers to have a chance to get into a top law school.

interview went really well and the questions didn't deviate from those posted here. ended with an allusion to admission and scholarships but no specifics. interviewer also mentioned that they're trying to interview everyone.
