I think higher than last year but honestly - we're going to be competing with incredible people our whole lives. I'm honestly just so thrilled that so many people are doing so well! Hopefully that means an incredible crop of lawyers in the future

I mean, the % increases are mostly silly because the numbers were so low already for the top %s. And I'd assume most top applicants have put in their apps.

Besides that, everyone gets in on their own merit, and the law school you go to does not determine your future! So breathe!

not that this matters, but I believe the increase may have something to do with the current state of U.S. politics (just an assumption).

I think I want to touch on a few things that may have been mentioned about the increase's effect on our application. Yes, we will definitely be competing against a larger pool of people, but these scores are just LSAT scores and do not reflect their GPA, softs, or other components that are considered by law schools. Second, for most of us who applied earlier, we will probably hear earlier than some people who applied with the December LSAT and therefore we still have a slight advantage. And as a fellow forum member said earlier: we will always be competing against incredible people and this should be seen as a good thing for all of us because when we do make it in we know that we made it in competing against a larger pool of applicants than most people have ever gone through. Also, "the number of law school applicants who scored more than 160 on the LSAT has gone down 35 percent since 2010, according to Paul Caron, dean of Pepperdine University School of Law and editor of TaxProf Blog. Inversely, the number of law school applicants with LSAT scores lower than 150 has gone up 146 percent since 2010." So even with an increase like this, we may be looking at improved numbers but not necessarily the biggest cycle (we are still early in the cycle). Finally, I would check previous data to look for historical trends. I would start by comparing cycles that have seen uptakes in the number of apps and applicants and see how those applicants fared at top law schools. If someone can find this data and post it that would be greatly appreciated.

Excuse my grammar, spelling, and syntax.

Keep your heads up, ladies and gentlemen.

No JS1 today? Have all interviews planned before holidays scheduled already?

Also got a JS1 today; complete 12/1, LSAT 180 & GPA 3.8.

Edit: and the slots were for Tues-Thurs two weeks from today.

I got a JS1 invite as well. Went complete Nov 28.
LSAT between the 25% and median, International GPA "Superior".
I am elated!

So if we take the LSAT in December and don't tell law schools, they still know and hold your app anyway? :/

No JS1 and complete two weeks ago, but I have a pending December LSAT. It is my understanding that even though my app is complete they hold it for review until January. Unfortunately I think my score is going to go down and my chances at H ruined because of a god damn logic puzzle

Don't beat yourself up. I felt a lot worse about my second take compared to my first, and I knew I messed up the LG section. My score stayed the same though, thanks to better performance in the other sections.

I'm not sure. The LSAC website kind of makes it seem like the report shows a pending score. But I put it on the application as well because I didn't want to lie

I'm just a little bummed/scared because I went complete 11/22 and was realllyyyyy hoping for an interview. Is it safe to assume I've already been rejected since I've heard nothing from them about a JS1?
