If an applicant is fortunate enough to receive a JS1, around how long after going complete might he or she expect it? I did look at some past spreadsheets, but the responses seem quite disparate, so I was wondering if there was any generally accepted number range, etc. :)

There's a... what?!?!!?

there is a random day of interviews on the 19th. i theorized about this earlier. it may be JS2 date. or maybe it means JS2 will be before it. it's clearly a kind of puzzle left by the adcoms to show us the way.

I believe you're almost right, but I think it should be the 18th (that Monday). Based on years past, it's always the Monday of that week.

Any speculation on the JS1 waves that can expect to hear back?

If you look at last year, there were ~24 JS1 waves and 5 JS2. So, presumably, the first five JS1 waves will likely hear in the first JS2 wave.

I need this to be true.

how many JS1 waves have there been so far? is it 4
or 5?

Edit: Just went back and checked, looks like there have been 4 or 5 waves depending on how you look at it. Nov 1st, Nov 6th (with only one reported JS1, so maybe not a “wave”), Nov 14, Nov 20, and Nov 28.

Obviously speculating, but I think the one-week gap on the interview calendar (week of Dec 11th) could be for committee meetings to discuss applicants. No interviews scheduled = everyone on the team can meet, discuss candidates interviewed so far, and decide who to make offers to. I think the first JS2s might be end of that week earliest (14th/15th) or, more likely, on the 18th.

this is wise.

I know it's most likely the 18th but there's a part of me still hoping for today/tomorrow... lmao

This gives me hope I might hear back before Christmas

So if one is in an early JS1 wave and does NOT hear a yes in the first JS2, do they assume ding/wl?

Nah you can hear in the later waves. Seems like wave 1 isn't usually that big.

according to MS9 adcoms regularly read these messaging boards. they're probably cracking up at how neurotic we are.

but seriously if youre reading this and youre an adcom: plzzzz give an answer to as many of the first couple of js1ers asap we're dying (well at least i am) :(

Can K-JDs who had early JS1s reasonably hope for a December JS2? Or do they typically wait to see K-JDs' fall grades?

it took me forever to find it too! if you click learn more under “meetings” on the front page, then scroll down, there should be a “download zoom client for meetings”

Are there not going to be any more interview slots until 19th? Last year there were JS1 waves and slots every week unlike in this instance.

I'm kinda new to LSN, so sorry if this is repetitive/obvious, but is there a way to organize the decisions by dates? I'm trying to get a feel for how many acceptances happen in the first wave. Thanks!

If you're in the "applicants" tab for the school you want (the view that lets you see all the applicants for a certain cycle), you can sort by "Decision rendered". It's a bit annoying because the "earliest first" comes up with the blanks at the top, so you have to go to maybe page 3 or so (for HLS) to start seeing the actual decision dates.

Has anyone rescheduled their JS1? My grandma was just hospitalized and it's not looking good for her so I feel like I might not be in the best state to be interviewed this week. I have been preparing and I feel ready, but if it's the type of interview where they might throw in curveballs or try to trip people up (I've seen some posters mention "interesting" questions but no clue what that really means) I don't know that I would be in the best mental state for that.
