Thanks for the response — yeah that makes sense, you're probably right about most people doing skype.Bojack93 wrote:No. I have no data to back this up but I would imagine most people do skype. I live on the West Coast so I opted for a skype interview instead of on-campus since I wasn't sure when I'd be able to visit and I didn't want to push back the interview too far, but now I feel like that was a stupid decision because obviously an in-person interview would be preferable to a skype one and I do plan on visiting! Did I ruin my chances of getting the scholarship by opting for the online interview? Should I schedule a flight to NC as soon as possible? My interview is at the start of the upcoming week so it's too late to reschedule.

Tangential question, but to the bolded, was the Mordecai interview email different than the regular scholarship email?hermanberk wrote:Hey everyone I have a kind of neurotic question. I'm curious about this as well, would be a bit disappointing if all the invites have gone out already.principalagent wrote:Tangential question, but to the bolded, was the Mordecai interview email different than the regular scholarship email?hermanberk wrote:Hey everyone I have a kind of neurotic question. Yeah, I got an email with the subject "Duke Law Scholarship Application" and another titled "Duke Law Mordecai Scholarship Nomination." Received both on the same day but have no idea what that means about the timing of invites.Slippin' Jimmy wrote:I'm curious about this as well, would be a bit disappointing if all the invites have gone out already.principalagent wrote:Tangential question, but to the bolded, was the Mordecai interview email different than the regular scholarship email?hermanberk wrote:Hey everyone I have a kind of neurotic question. If I applied in December is it too late to receive one? There aren't official deadlines for scholarships at a lot of schools, but I know it's preferable to apply earlier than later... Am I out of luck?super12345chess wrote:For people getting mordechai info, what are your numbers?

Really interested to see how this scholarship interview goes tomorrow considering I did one last year, and I didn't apply anywhere else this cycle, and I am contractually obligated to attend, and was a week away from attending in 2017...
How am I supposed to answer "Why Duke?" Isn't my interest pretty well documented?

Wait, they didn’t let you keep your scholarship? I thought you took a medical leave.Dr.Degrees_Cr.Cash wrote:Really interested to see how this scholarship interview goes tomorrow considering I did one last year, and I didn't apply anywhere else this cycle, and I am contractually obligated to attend, and was a week away from attending in 2017...

For the scholarship interview, is it more like every other admissions interview or a focus on you trying to convince them to give you money (lol)?

Also have a scholarship interview ahead and wondering what to expect. Can anyone share their experience?

Yeah I did, they don't let you keep the scholarship. I was told verbally by an Assistant Dean that "nobody who takes a medical leave gets a lower scholarship the next year" but I kinda have to roll the dice on itprincipalagent wrote:Wait, they didn’t let you keep your scholarship? Interview went fine by the way, talked about what I've been doing, talked about my goals in law, talked about the fact that I have no money, normal stuff. It was the same interviewer I had last year so she didn't make me reiterate my "why's"

Re: Duke c/o 2021 Applicants (2017/18)
From what I've seen, PT an ED candidates have priority in admissions right now; that isn't to say that you won't be hearing back if you didn't apply under those two categories, but without a PT, I would expect to hear back after ED round 2 have been given decisions.littlewing67 wrote:If you're not priority track will you hear back much later? I see duke has a very fast turn around time from LSN but I am not sure if that's because of priority track folks. I saw maybe 2 people who applied later than me get accepted already. I submitted 12/22 the day we received Dec. LSATs because I didn't want to wait but maybe I messed up b/c they might have sent me priority track invite???
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
