If I apply to a dual degree, will I decrease my chances/will it be more difficult to get in? (i.e.: the dual LLM in International Human Rights)

I think it would count as a slight boost. Write about it in a Why X for even more bonus. It would definitely be seen as a yield protect since it's such a unique dual degree. I don't know if admission statistics exist to say whether or not getting in is more competitive - I'd be inclined to guess that you have the same chance as a normal JD candidate to get accepted, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

It's aggressively mentioned in my Why Northwestern. Like more than half of it is about that program. I guess I'm wondering if the duals are more competitive. It's reassuring that you think not!

just completed my registered interview... Not happy about that, but it wasn't a disaster after all. How much do you think they weight it?

For your numbers, probably not a lot. Being an international they may care a little more. But it's a 6 minute interview that anyone can register for...

edit: In case anyone is wondering, here are the questions I remember:

Why Northwestern?
Tell us about a time you had to motivate a disinterested team member.
Tell us about a time you had to put the need of someone else over your own.

^ I think they ask "Why NU" and "What do you want the Adcoms to know about you at this point" to everyone...

The others are completely random from a big database, and you can practice as much as you want!

IS there a Why NU option? I thought the only optional essay was more or less a diversity essay...

I considered my video interview to be enough of a Why NU since this is ultimately one of they questions you'll be asked.

For those who are already done with the online interview (beside Platopus) , can anyone please share what kinds of questions were asked in the online video interview? I am really nervous because the format is kind of awkward.

If I submit ED app to NW today, how quick is the turnaround?

If I don't get in to NW Ed, I want to apply to UCLA by Nov. 15.

Thanks!

1) Turnaround is December
2) NU has in the contract that you can't apply ED anywhere else this cycle, period.

Do you think I can get in to NW ED with (stats edited)

I don't know anything. I just know the dates and terms for ED because I read the web site.

For those EDing to NU, what made you decide to ED?

I'm considering it as an option rn as it may be my best shot to break the t14 (and even then, sketchy) but I never had NU as my first choice school.

If your stats are what you posted elsewhere on TLS, you're not going to get into NU ED. That's the unfortunate reality. NU ED is to pick up URMs with mid 3 GPAs and mid 160s LSATs and non-URMs that break both medians/could go to CCN/MVP. It's not meant to boost the chances of fringe candidates.
