Probably the email that more or less said "don't freak out we're still reviewing your application"Mikey wrote:wait, what do you mean by email or no email? as in if they got an email or not for their UR1 and 2?principalagent wrote: Email

an aside - really loved the handwritten note (in purple no less) attached to the acceptance letter! in love with NYU and the neighborhood/it has an amazing program for the field i want to go. hoping for merit money so my decision can be simple

DLS today and can log into ASW. But I haven't received an email or phone call yet. What's usually the lag time in between the status change and any type of communication from the admissions office?

Same boat as you, just got the call myself. I don’t think it should take much longer.Obama2008 wrote:DLS today and can log into ASW. But I haven't received an email or phone call yet. What's usually the lag time in between the status change and any type of communication from the admissions office?

I got the call around 3 PM EST. I think they aim to notify same day (but we should be receiving letters in the mail too).Obama2008 wrote:DLS today and can log into ASW. Checking my status so often that they think I'm a robot...captcha test came up. I think that's a sign for me to stop, haha.

LOL shit. Do you think the schools can access how often we check the status checker? I mean, I'm sure they probably DON'T but.ChiCityLove wrote:Checking my status so often that they think I'm a robot...captcha test came up. I think that's a sign for me to stop, haha.
So I guess my idea to build a webpage that checked all my status checkers for me so I wouldn't have to individually go to every damn one isn't gonna work...

Haha, if they can, hopefully they'll take it as a sign of interest (but more likely, of desperation).covfefe wrote:LOL shit. Do you think the schools can access how often we check the status checker? I read an anecdote where they can in fact see how many times we check. I think it was in Northwestern’s thread from last yearcovfefe wrote:LOL shit. Back in undergrad, I discovered mailchimp and started using it to send emails to a student group I was in. The practical reason was because I wanted to see when people were opening emails (so that, if I sent important information or needed a response or something, I'd know if someone actually just missed it). But the software also tells you how many times people open emails/what links they click on in emails/other stats, and I loveddddd looking at that stuff and chuckling at it. All this to say, I'm sure if I were an admissions officer, I'd find it v amusing to see like a top 10 list of who is checking the status checker.

1. What are they going to do, think I care about their school too much?
2. You all are just as crazy as I am.

Fam I have these status checkers bookmarked directly to the logon page (so I don't have to go through everyone's individual jdadmissions page) and have my passwords ready to go so it's literally SO EASY to check these things. I've easily got a few a day not when I'm feeling particularly anxious just because it's SO EASY. TOO EASY, apparently.
Once a day is like. Nothing.
OH WELL. *checks again*

Yeah I hadn't checked the checkers at all for 1.5months ... but then I joined TLS.

I submitted 12/26, went "Application Processing" (which i think is complete for NYU?) on 12/28, and then UR1 on 1/9. No official 'complete' status for me.kiklavan wrote:What’s the quickest anybody has heard back from time of completion? I went complete beginning of this month and am officially getting antsy

Re: NYU c/o 2021 Applicants (2017-2018 cycle)
I've been UR1 since 12/5 and didn't get any weird emails. Any speculation as to why people have gotten decisions while under review for less time than me? My stats make me a good applicant to NYU. Is there just some randomness for the timing of their decisions or should I take it as a bad sign?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
