what do you mean?

Sorry to jump in here as someone not on the Harvard waitlist but is on this thread because of what MS9 means I think this is what he is referring to-

He has described the waitlist game as a wave in general and that Harvard usually starts it and it waves through the other schools to follow. Meaning Harvard lets people off the waitlist so other lower schools lose their deposited students and admit students of the waitlist and so on and so forth. And this year in particular is supposed to be a bigger wave because of the lack of high LSATS. So the wave starting and growing probably means Harvard has pushed the first domino they are all about to fall all the way down the line not really in reference to just Harvard's pool  speculation though

I've been on here waiting for you guys to get movement hoping eventually soon I'll get movement on my waitlists

Maybe. He said it would grow though... you can stay, but I'm gonna need you to do more to help rally the troops.

When I originally posted I was thinking something similar to the above comment. However, I am with you and refuse to believe or agree with anything that doesn't fit my desired narrative. More JS1s!

If we could also get an update on slot fillage maybe that would add color too...

still 11/16 on the first day, but only 14/16 on the second day remain.

If no more emails are sent, could we humbly trouble you to send an updated figure of slots at the end of the day? (Or later tonight) :)

Just withdrew from the WL! Good luck to all you who are staying on :)

It was a tough decision, but I realized I was only staying on for the prestige of saying I got into H, and that's not a good enough reason ;)

Getting a JS1 has basically ruined my productivity for the next few days at work. Oh boy.

Also, out of curiosity...does anyone know whether the late WL admits in previous cycles (June onward) were all pre-WL JS1s?

Oh for sure. He especially has ties to HLS.

I'd like to agree with you all, but I think he's referring to the cascading effects down the rankings.

+1.

Although if you look at just about every past cycle for the last good while now you'd be able to say with confidence the HLS is highly likely not done.

When I look at the data and talk to deans of admissions and look at some admit patterns this cycle I just think there will be a lot of admits made all summer long. Which, to the extent that I can, I'd encourage everyone not to get bummed when a few people get admitted to x dream school off the WL and you don't. Because the summer is long but full of admitting, or something like that.

No stats here but I'd say so, if not higher than 75%.

it's closer to 55% based on past samples

Oh wow I think they would have a much clearer picture of who to cherry pick off the WL

those who got js1 today, could we trouble you to confidentially PM me the exact intvw slot time and day you signed up for, which could help resolve enduring mystery whether H double-books intvw slots (ie only 32 slots but >32 intvws)? (pm would remain anonymous)

I just left the office early to have a martini and walk Central Park, to calm my nerves. Interview can't come soon enough.

what? if you're referring to anonymous then it meant confidential. I guess we don't know how many total js1 are done during wl.

tbh it looks to me that the spreadsheet is messed up. I know for a fact that I'm the only one on it w/my GPA and signed-on school but my LSAT does not match up. Looks like someone sorted the GPA? Unless I'm reading it completely wrong.

This thread is full of crazy people.

Lol taking the LSAT and wanting to go to a T6 law school is required before you even get to this thread; of course it's full of crazies.

Ha, I know. When I said this thread is full of crazy people, I was including myself.

Appind: people probably won't reveal their interview times, even confidentially via PM, it's just way too revealing. What can I say, people are paranoid, and by people, I mean me.

All of the spreadsheets are pretty screwed up at this point, sadly. I know for a fact that when I looked at them in March or April, they gave a much better sense of when people with May JS1's heard back. Now, a ton of those entries are gone or jumbled up.
