At what point have ding waves happened in recent years?

I believe they happened the last week of May. What with the previous rumor about a JS1 wave last week not panning out, but also no ding wave, I am just floating here utterly confused.WordsworthIsBae wrote:+1sittykitty wrote:I can't decide how I feel about there not being a ding wave yet.

Also holding out hope for a JS1. Is anyone else putting off finding a lease at their current school in the mad hope of a Harvard admit?

Holding off on my social media "flex post" announcing where I'll be this fall for fear of receiving a JS1 immediately after lolKopetz wrote:Also holding out hope for a JS1. Is anyone else putting off finding a lease at their current school in the mad hope of a Harvard admit?

Same...and thankfully, most August 1 rentals in NYC don't open up until early July, or so I've been told.mtf612 wrote:Holding off on my social media "flex post" announcing where I'll be this fall for fear of receiving a JS1 immediately after lolKopetz wrote:Also holding out hope for a JS1. Most deals/good apartments open up late and get snatched up within a day or 2 on the market so just be super on top of it and youre fine. It's a cutthroat market.sittykitty wrote:Same...and thankfully, most August 1 rentals in NYC don't open up until early July, or so I've been told.mtf612 wrote:Holding off on my social media "flex post" announcing where I'll be this fall for fear of receiving a JS1 immediately after lolKopetz wrote:Also holding out hope for a JS1. Re: Harvard Law c/o 2020 Waitlist
Thanks for the advice! Do you think there's any point to reaching out to listings now and seeing if they're open to an August 1 lease? All the listings I can find are for immediate rental or July.firebluedog wrote:Most deals/good apartments open up late and get snatched up within a day or 2 on the market so just be super on top of it and youre fine. Any good reason to believe that another round of interviews is coming ?

Someone admitted in the last JS2 wave indicated that their interviewer implied there would be another wave of interviews. I have been holding this as fact but upon a re-read, it's more tenuous than I previously thought.davenport wrote:Any good reason to believe that another round of interviews is coming ?

Ya I saw that too and thought it was a bit hopeful toosittykitty wrote:Someone admitted in the last JS2 wave indicated that their interviewer implied there would be another wave of interviews. Is the absence of a rejection wave a good sign, or is the timeline somewhat in keeping with last year's?

Re: Harvard Law c/o 2020 Waitlist
I think it is a bit off based on what I have read. I think they had a late May rejection wave? Either way, I am not feeling very confident about my chances.davenport wrote:Ya I saw that too and thought it was a bit hopeful toosittykitty wrote:Someone admitted in the last JS2 wave indicated that their interviewer implied there would be another wave of interviews. There are 2 open interview spots on 6/12. Not sure how many were there originally.

Re: Harvard Law c/o 2020 Waitlist
Is there any reason to think invites go out before slots open, though?
Humph, either way maybe this means the first ding wave will come later next week or something. To those still around, repeat after me: the outcome of this (beyond a certain point) fairly arbitrary process is not a referendum on your worth or capacity to succeed.
So really, you might as well all just drop off the WL because it doesn't matter anyway. Don't mind me, I'll just sit over here.

or what if they're in the process of adding slots to the calendar so that they can send invites out tomorrow

Longtime lurker here. that seems like a stretch, but it'd be easy to check. Just have to have someone log back in and see if there are more than 2 slots now.SybillAnnDorsett wrote:or what if they're in the process of adding slots to the calendar so that they can send invites out tomorrow
