Because law school is about networking and asw is day 1. That's like saying whatever you want to day 1 on the job, it's not weird to want to make a good impression.

That said Jeans and a button down is what I'd probably have gone with, so you're probably right that one doesn't need to overthink it too much
Yeah pretty much ^

thanks for the advice everyone! Just don't want to be the weird one on ASW lol
So..... is the consensus that jeans are best?

If so, I either need to go jean shopping or magically lose some weight

UGH seriously, I don't think I've ever worn jeans since middle school. I strongly prefer pjs to anything else

Gained a fair amount of weight, have been yoga pants-ing it ever since my thighs got too big for my jeans. Didn't buy new jeans because not buying new jeans is motivation to fit into the jeans I currently own --- or so I thought. Haven't been to the gym once. I'm ashamed lol

Tell me about it! The whole LSAT/law school admissions got me so stressed that I gained a fair amount of weight as well :( I also have been wearing yoga pants/leggings when I go outside and then change right back to pjs when I'm at home lol

And hey, that's better than me since I go to the gym but still haven't lost the weight that I gained!

The worst part is I bought a couple of suits when I was still my small self and now they barely fit! Smh. I envy men who have those crazy metabolisms that allow them to eat whatever they want. That will literally never be me, even when I'm incredibly active.

That's exactly what happened to me!! I thought I'd stay at my small self forever and now I legitimately have nothing to wear, every day. I also envy those types of people, since I gain weight even if I drink a sip of water :x

I gotta get back to my usual size before LS or I'll be forced to spend money on clothing, and the less money I have to spend right before heading to LS, the better (minus this trip to Miami I'ma take for my birthday, lol).

That's my goal too, since I'd rather spend my money on make up  you're so lucky you're going to Miami though! Have fun and happy early bday :D

Lol, make-up is a silent bank acct killer. It just sneaks up on ya smh.

And it'll be my third trip! Went for my 21st birthday (super great time), then I went again for my senior spring break trip (friend wasn't the right party partner for me, so not-so-great of a time). I love it there. If UM (or any Florida school, really) had better placement, I would've gone! I still have awhile though. I'm a late-May baby so we're going Memorial Day weekend.

Random, but more on topic for the forum: Any idea where you're gonna go to LS yet?

Ikr?! Ever since I became Sephora Rouge, I can't stop taking advantage of their free 2-day shipping (if u or anyone needs their make up asap, hmu) I've always wanted to go to Miami! Hopefully you'll have a better time this year!

I have no idea where I'm gonna go for LS, since I'm still waiting to hear back from 30% of the schools I applied to! But my strongest contenders right now are Berk, UVA, and Duke :) I'll PM you so we can continue this convo!

Are the stipends that are given cash/check or cards?

I think they just write a check to reimburse you once you submit your receipts for travel/lodging

Berkeley's is in the form of a Visa pre-paid card.

Thanks! I actually visited and found that out, but they also give you instructions on how to transfer those funds to your bank account so that was nice!

Because law school is about networking and asw is day 1. That's like saying whatever you want to day 1 on the job, it's not weird to want to make a good impression.

That said Jeans and a button down is what I'd probably have gone with, so you're probably right that one doesn't need to overthink it too much

I bulked up to the point where my raw denim are a bit tight on the thighs. I've been fasting and going to the gym 5-6 days a week. Doing more cardio to get down. I have been rocking my black jeans because they have more give. Hoping to be back in my jeans in a month.
