Nice.. I'm originally from FL but I moved out to UT 3 years ago, so my scholarship is distributed 50% out of state tuition the first year and then 75% each year after in state tuition... Miami I got $120k over 3 years (though I was getting worried after them not calling me right away)DoYouEvenTLS wrote: Got into Miami with basically 50% scholarship. I heard back about 1 or 2 days after being notified of admittance.
(not sure if worth noting, but I'm a FL resident and I'd be paying in-state tuition at FSU)

There was a 500 word limit? I apparently did not notice that and mine was maybe 650 words (two pages even double spaced). It didn't seem to be a problem.Houzy wrote:Did anyone else find the 500 word limit on the personal statement odd?

Yea, I condensed mine as much as possible but it was definitely over by atleast 200-300 words.lonola wrote:There was a 500 word limit? I called and asked about it and they said it was "ok" if it was more than 500 but couldn't be more than 2 pages.smashbash wrote:Yea, I condensed mine as much as possible but it was definitely over by atleast 200-300 words.lonola wrote:There was a 500 word limit? I don't think people even notice. LSAC makes it so easy to fly through applications once you get the first one done that it's easy to miss minor details like that

You're not getting biglaw out of FSU or UF unless you absolutely crush it. I think the general consensus is that UF places slightly better for private practice but the difference is miniscule IMO.zerato5 wrote:RParadela wrote:What are your goals in law?zerato5 wrote:Forgot to post this, but in with 75% scholarship. I would like biglaw, but I would be 100% ok with working at a midsize private firm.
I'm biased, but I think Tallahassee is a much better city than Gainesville. Better social scene, more stuff to do, and it's the state's capital so you can do some interesting stuff in government if that ever appeals to you

I did undergrad at FSU and went to visit UF constantly. Tallahassee is a much better city than Gainesville. More things to do, better weather, larger area, better nightlifezerato5 wrote:RParadela wrote:What are your goals in law?zerato5 wrote:Forgot to post this, but in with 75% scholarship. Why would you go to Gainesville constantly? Does. Not. Compute.jag13 wrote:I did undergrad at FSU and went to visit UF constantly. Tallahassee is a much better city than Gainesville. Has anyone been successful in scholarship negotiations? Waiting to hear back from some schools out of state still but have FSU and UF as my top choices currently. FSU offered 75% while UF offered 90%. I'm hoping I can get FSU to at least match them before I make a decision.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
