I'm in as well. Super surprised about how fast they were able to respond. Miami was my fastest acceptance by far.

Congrats!! And definitely, it kind of sucks because it's made all my other applications feel like an eternity..

For real, I got quick acceptances from several Florida schools but still none from the (mostly less selective) local ones that the people who employ me and recommended me actively went to and work with.

Wondering if anyone can help me out here, does The U (or any other law schools for that matter) offer additional scholly money after already awarding you a scholly? For example, if I was given $X-amount when I was initially accepted, would they up my scholarship later in the cycle when there's leftover $$$$ ?

I think that it's open to negotiations, but it depends on what leverage you can bring to the discussion. I applied on October 2nd and was accepted (with a $40K/year scholarship and a 2.5 gpa stip) on October 11th.

I'm still waiting for replies from other schools, and once that happens I intend to open discussions with UM with the ideal result being a full ride w/o any stips. However, I'm a splitter (LSAT > 75 and UGPA < 25) and I think a lot of it will depend upon whether UM needs higher LSAT scores or UGPA's to balance out their scales.

Great thread about negotiations. It very much depends on each candidate and, like ZEROL27 mentioned, the cycle in terms of GPA and LSAT. You would probably be most successful in negotiations if you have scholarship offers from higher ranked or peer schools to use as leverage.

They flat out told me they don't match other schools (which I did not explicitly request), and that they cant meet my request of increasing aid.

Did you specify how much more you wanted or did they say they wouldn't budge at all? In any case, that's pretty lame - sorry to hear that!

I didn't specify, but I attached other offers for lower COA. I appreciate the support, but It's not really a huge deal. Miami is not my top choice

If it's not too bold, may I request a similar PM. I was hoping to negotiate as well in the coming months.
