It's on the admitted students page they sent to us (last week? I think)

Good call. I found it: "Timing: Selection of scholarship recipients begins in January, and in most circumstances, recipients will be notified before their enrollment deposit is due. If a recipient declines a scholarship, then a new recipient is chosen. It is possible for scholarships to be awarded through the middle of August."

I was hoping to find out before end of year. Bahhh. I guess I'll have to make decisions after Jan.

Ah, this bump made me think someone heard back! Thinking there should definitely be a wave this week, and hoping I'm in it!

I live right down the road from cu law, and have been in boulder for about 4 years now. I will be attending law school elsewhere, but please feel free to message me with questions about the area. I can tell you that cu law carries a good reputation among lawyers here, and the school itself is still pretty new and very nice (as is much of the university in general).

What's rent like? Why aren't you going to school there?

Rent is high and continuing to rise, which is one of the few downsides of living here. It's not NYC bad or anything, but it's getting close. Google opening a campus in town hasn't helped. The average cost of a home sold last year was just over $1,000,000. I want to practice closer to my family in either MN or the Southeast, so I'll be choosing between schools in those areas.

Just checked status checker-- waitlisted. Pretty much what I was expecting. Haven't received email yet.

Edit: 161, 3.33 for reference

Edit x2: just got the email. I'm on the priority waitlist-- though idk if there's even a regular waitlist based on previous years threads lol

I've been thinking of retaking since I started applying, but figured I'd see how the cycle went. I definitely think I'll be retaking in June. I would retake in Feb, but idk if it's enough time after not even thinking LSAT since September. I just really don't want to have to wait another cycle since I already did that last year when I took December 2015 LSAT and bombed it. Last chance to take it :?

On a lighter note... kudos to CU for making you feel good about being on the priority waitlist!

I wouldn't try for Feb. Law school will always be there! I'll be 30 when I graduate. Not a big deal.

Yea, I'll be 30 when I graduate also (if I start next fall)-- 30, 31, fuhhh it. Haha.. I definitely do feel like it would be a waste not to retake though. I got a 161 with guessing 1/3 of the answers to the test, so I know if I just buckle down and learn to skip questions that are giving me issues, instead of spending an ungodly amount of time on them I can do much better.

good luck with whatever you decide. I applied with a 167 last year and just wasn't too happy with my school options and there were professional opportunities I was happy to pursue. tbh, I wish I was in school right now, but I am optimistic about what a retake means for my chances.

In via e-mail. Very fast turnaround time, I went complete on 11/29.

Crossing my fingers for a good scholly.

If I can offer my two cents, you seem to be in almost the exact same boat as I was this time last year, except I'm 29 right now so I'll be older than either of you after graduating. :P

I got a 160 on Dec. 2015, and was feeling pretty deflated because it was my 2nd take and I'd been PTing higher than that. I spent the holidays deciding what to do, and ultimately settled on one final take in February 2016. I hit my target score, and decided to sit out the cycle and wait to apply in Fall 2016.

It was tough deciding to spend another year on the sidelines. I had just turned 28 and felt like I was wasting my prime years; I spent a lot of time trying to tell myself I'd be happy applying with 160/3.4 and going to a local school like Santa Clara Law at a discount.

But I cannot stress enough that retaking in February and waiting another cycle was probably the best decision I have ever made in my life. I would have spent the rest of my life wondering what could have been had I not used up my last retake. And I've been able to use the extra year off to travel, save up more money for school while working, and make myself a better candidate.

Only you can really decide what's best, but if you're feeling the urge to retake, feel like you can do better with more serious study, and aren't satisfied with your current options, I'd strongly urge you to do the Feb or June LSAT.
