The group one sounds interesting.

I was offered an alumni interview but had to decline. Was accepted a week or two after declining. (LSAT > 75th GPA <25th)

I was accepted without an interview, but I also live pretty far away.

I was also offered an interview but had to decline because of my work taking me different places. Just got the acceptance letter! Stats above both 75ths, applied and went complete in early October.

Yep. I did nothing "extra" and got in as a pretty big splitter.

Also, is ASW something different than the open house, or is that essentially the same thing?

+1

(minus never going to DC. DC is great, btw)

visiting is probably the best thing you can do when choosing between schools (I'm just repeating the TLS consensus on this)

If scholarship money and ranking are relatively equal, then getting a feel for the school and the city is pretty important tbh. DC in the spring would be better time to visit if you have to choose between ASW and Open House.

So ASW is different than the open house? I'd rather go to ASW (I think?)

Bumping this question

Edit - or I can just find out for myself lol

can we get a poll on whether or not you're attending open house? (yes, no, still waiting on decision, rejected/WL)

Will we get financial aid/scholly prior to the Open House? I don't want to visit if GT does not give me enough scholly to attend.

If I go to one, it'll probably be the late-March one.

Same here. I think they start their financial aid process in February, so we might get that info in time to make a decision on the late-March open house. Still going to be cutting it close though.

I just sent my CSS profile to GULC, did I waste my money by doing this if we were supposed to wait until February?

I honestly don't have a ton of information about this, just basing it off of what I've read on TLS. I would assume that if you're going to have to send them your CSS profile anyways then doing it now is no different than doing it in February?

Just received an interview invitation! :D Those who accepted, what did you wear? I know this sounds trivial, but I wouldn't want to over or under dress!

I wore a suit and tie to my alumni interview in DC. I'm sure you could get away with business casual, but I wanted to err on the side of caution.

Same! I accepted the invite (although I doubt they are going to be able to find an alumni member to participate in or around my area). But does anyone have any experience with the timelines on this process? I've seen mixed reviews with some people saying it took upwards of 3 weeks to even get in touch with their interviewer and others who had it done in the matter of a week or two and received their decision a week or two after that...

I have a median LSAT and GPA> 75th and still no interview invite or decision. Complete on 12/1 so this is concerning for me...

I actually think you have very little reason to be concerned! From what I've read and found, interviews do not seem to correlate much with the qualifications of the applicant! The consensus on past threads is that if its logistically possible they will attempt to get you set up. I have seen a bunch of people have complete silence from GULC and get acceptances in the mail, people with >75% LSAT and GPA get waitlisted after an interview and people with splitter numbers get in with and without an interview. So it doesn't seem to be much of an indicator if anything at all about where you stand with them in admissions.
