Georgetown is my first choice and it's killing me that I haven't heard yet. Applied ~10/21, between 25%-50% GPA and 162.

Just curious, did you apply ED??

No :( I was actually so set on applying ED and then I kind of freaked out right before because I know Georgetown says don't ED if you want any money and I really thought how much money I'd be committing myself to. I'd still go if I got in, but something about that money commitment scared the shit out of me.

Aww no worries!

1. Since you're RD and have numbers below their median, you'll probably have to sit back and wait a little longer! No worries that you have radio silence so far.

==error==/how-lo ... o-be-read/

2. Don't feel bad about not EDing to GULC because its one of the schools that don't really have a ED boost :) If UVA or Duke was your first choice though, I definitely would've said, "WHY DIDN'T YOU ED?!" :D

That's the other reason I didn't ED. I saw a bunch of stuff saying it doesn't actually help you much, even though they say it does.

That link helps, but makes me realize that I'm in for quite a few more long days being disappointed by the mailbox

Hahah just forget about it. You'll get accepted when you're accepted. No need to waste this freedom before going to law school by worrying about law school. You'll have plenty of time for that later :D

I think this is the first year they're doing invite only. The website says final decisions will be made Feb/March but no info about when invites may be sent out

+1. I was consistently stalking the PILS page waiting for the information on applying and have pretty mixed emotions about the change. No real way to show interest at this point, but on the upside, no additional essays either.

Fingers crossed!

I would say this a good sign. They're supposed to postmark by 3 weeks - if they were saying no, that communication is instant. Yet, on the other hand, is slower. At this point, no news is good news!

Had anyone who's applied ED been dinged/deferred to RD/waitlised after the 3 week mark?

Does anyone know the chances of being admitted from the waitlist vs the preferred waitlist?

Did you apply RD or ED?

Applied ED 10/10, deferred 10/28, interviewed 10/31, waitlisted 12/8.

Aw, crap. Today's 3 weeks from submitting, tomorrow is 3 weeks from complete. So, I'm hoping I won't hear anything tomorrow either!

Have all my stuff ready to submit my app but wanted to ask a few questions. I took the test in Dec and am almost sure I scored lower than my last take. In the app, there's an option to place a hold request for a future LSAT score, but honestly I prefer to apply now and have them make a decision based on my current stats. Do they expect everyone who took the test in Dec to fill out the hold request form? Like if I choose "section doesn't apply to me" is it dishonest? Sorry if I sound paranoid but wanna make sure I do this right.

Also, does G-town offer fee waivers?

In! The size of the letter had my heart racing 200%.

RD
GPA ≥ Avg
LSAT ≤ Avg
Applied 11/8
Group Interviewed 11/29 in DC
Letter postmarked 12/5.

From what I can tell, they placed an emphasis on the group interview. They really don't care what you say in the group discussion, but rather how you say it, and if you constructively incorporate the dean's and your fellow interviewees' claims. I believe it was set up to model a law school class, and test your ability to communicate constructively and eloquently in a group.

theyre going to get your December test score regardless, unless you cancel your score. And if you haven't submitted yet and aren't applying ED, they likely wouldn't make a decision on your file before then anyway so they're going to see it.

Thanks, of course I expect them to see it, my question is basically am I allowed to apply now without completing the hold request form. Even if they don't make a decision before the Dec score, at least I get my app in 3 weeks earlier.

Oh yeah, you can definitely apply now. I think that's if you want to make sure they have your second score before reviewing, so I don't think you need to do the hold request - if you don't care if they don't have your second score I doubt you have to do it.

Exactly what I wanted to know, super helpful, thanks. Before I apply though, do you know if they offer a fee waiver? I got one for several t-14 schools but never from g-town.

Does anybody know if GULC mails decision letters to international students? If so, it's gonna be a long journey...

I got a fee waiver from them. I can't remember if people have been having trouble soliciting them though. I didn't have to solicit it, it was sent to me via email.
