My app went complete on 10/21...literally texting home every day to ask about mail. I'm 50th GPA and way over 75th LSAT but I'm stressed AF. I need to hear back from someone soon just so I can relax for the rest of the cycle knowing that my LORs aren't turncoats or something.

In via mail on Thursday! It was postmarked October 31st (spooky) and I live in a part of Appalachia that's not all that far from DC(few hour drive.) First school that actually received all of my LORs to accept me, so it's good to know no one secretly despises me enough to sabotage my applications haha.

Do you need to be invited to an interview in order to be accepted? And how do they request an interview--call or email?

Idk if it's a requirement. I got invited to two interviews but couldn't make either. They send emails.

Same, although I did the video and made sure to explain why Georgetown.

It's not required. Even if you get an interview request, they give you the option and say it won't hurt you if you choose not to. The request came by email, and once you respond yes they pair you with an alum based on your interests.

I was really impressed with the alum I got paired with. They were from my alma mater and had a job in an area very similar to what I'm planning on. And, really nice and conversational.

I got accepted without either so it's definitely not required to do a Why Georgetown

This is probably a better question for a Georgetown alum thread, but what do people think of going to Georgetown without being dead-set on working in D.C.? I've heard that Gtown is more competitive than other schools since lots of talent all over the country wants to work in D.C., and naturally most of the people going to Gtown want to as well. If someone wanted to work in a different market like Chicago or St. Louis, could Georgetown be a good bet since they would bring diversity to law firms in those cities and also not have to worry about clawing over people for a shot in D.C.?

If you want Chicago, UCHI, NW, and UM are all going to be better T14 options. If we're talking about someone who maybe only got into Georgetown and no other T14s, then that changes things. Just thinking aloud here, but I would imagine that since GULC has such a large class size, and there generally seem to be fewer spots at Chicago firms than NYC, and maybe even DC ones for GULC specifically(?), you might still be looking at an uphill battle to get there. The smaller number of spots combined with a larger class size might negate whatever advantage there is in having less people at Georgetown wanting to go to Chicago. Definitely something the alum thread might have more insight into though.

I am preemptively thinking about this since I was waitlisted at the only other t14 school I've heard back from. I also do not know if I would even want Chicago over D.C., just mulling over the possibilities. Thing is, I know I am not looking for an especially cutthroat environment, so the prospect of Gtown kinda freaks me out.

Thanks for the advice though.
