It would appear that it just happened, based on LSN. Looks primarily as if it was mainly mid-late December apps.

I'm very tempted to email on Monday and ask for more info. My attending Georgetown is partially reliant on PILS, so I was definitely hoping to get an invite. But I don't want to be obnoxious.

If any of you emailed, did you get a reply?

Haven't emailed but somewhat surprised and disappointed that I didn't get any notification.

I know, yikes. I have been spared so far today. Kind of surprised though as I applied ED and have been on hold since 11/18 and have not gotten in with the ASW trick. But hey, no news is good news at this point!

As an early jan app, I'm still assuming bad news... just bad news that will come later. Lol!

Admitted this week after an interview at the end of Jan (early Dec application), so hold out if you've interviewed but haven't heard back!

Have those "name your price" scholarship emails continued to roll out after the first wave of recipients?

According to the Open House FAQs on the admitted students site, no dice.

I went ahead and just emailed them because I didn't get a feeler. They basically said they're still making their way through admitted students and will get to me when they get to me. It also included this gem:
Please keep in mind that scholarships awarded through this process are just one part of what should be an overall approach to financing your Georgetown education.

As a poor (but not poor enough) white guy with no parental help, not sure what an "overall approach" means for me other than loans with rates approaching usury. And thanks, I'll be sure to keep those in mind as alternatives

Lmao I love when schools say this. It's loans. It's always loans. Sorry but my few grand in savings since graduating isn't gonna make a dent in your insane tuition costs.

Has anyone that went to the Dallas group interview last week heard anything (via mail or ASW trick)?

By this I meant the "feeler" emails people described receiving earlier in the cycle (and which Sarastro just mentioned), asking admitted students what it would take financially to bring them to Georgetown.

(By the way, to me this is a very clever approach on their part -- though not a desirable one for us as applicants: If you ask for an overzealous amount it gives the financial aid office the safety of rejecting your request for scholarship altogether, (along the lines of, "Sorry, you aren't worth full tuition to us, so if that is what it would take to win you, we won't be making you an offer at all"), while if you undervalue yourself they get to spend less money overall than if they were trying to guess your price.)

I'm curious to know whether folks who submitted their scholarship requests have heard back yet and how close the offers were to the requests.

Anyone know if the commute from Baltimore to Georgetown would be doable? I know it isn't ideal, but wondering if it's realistic.

Yes I did it! I took the MARC from BWI to Union station which took about 40 minutes and cost $7 one way! The difference in my flight ticket was over $100 so it was definitely worth it imo!

Congratulations to those of you who got the full-ride scholarship (PILS).

I heard it changed this year -- do they now offer the scholarship when you get the acceptance letter like Columbia's famous Hamilton Fellowship?

Could you guys perhaps share your stats and WE years?

As someone who vitally needs every FA he can get, I'd be very grateful.

Also, has anyonw gotten PILS without an interview (before decision)? Thank you.

Hey -

So far, only PILS invitations to apply have gone out. Our essays are due on Tuesday. They'll begin to review and make 2nd-round interview invitations for semi-finalists immediately. Semi-finalists should know by late March whether they've been selected.

The initial invite offers came last week; not sure if they'll send more as they accept more students. So far, you need to have been accepted in order to get an invitation to apply for PILS.

No one will get the PILS without that 2nd round interview referenced above. And this is also the first year (I think) that they're offering full rides under PILS; if I'm not mistaken that's what the website says.

As for stats, I'm below 25th LSAT, Above 75th GPA, interviewed 11/28 and accepted 12/5. PILS invite last week. +1 year of WE. Non-URM Hispanic.

Is there really any difference between the Preferred WL and the regular WL?

Also, what are my chances (if any) of getting off the preferred WL?

Just got Preferred WL this weekend..... :(

Yeah assuming your group interview is like everyone else's you won't need any of that. There really wasn't any time where we specifically spoke about ourselves. It's more the type of interview where you do various exercises and are observed based on how you approach them.
