I interviewed last week and ASW trick worked for me today. I can't log in with the username/password they sent me tho - does that still mean acceptance??StopLawying wrote:Anyone who interviewed last week try the ASW trick? Congrats! Yes you're accepted, just have to wait 1-3 days to log in to ASW.montypython418 wrote:I interviewed last week and ASW trick worked for me today. Based on last year's thread, scholly offers are sent out in early March, not with the acceptance letters.feefeeriri wrote:In via ASW trick! When do we get scholly info?

Re: Georgetown Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
I was put "on hold" today. Im hearing this is usually what they say to ED applicants who are being put in the RD pool, but I didn't ED.
The email I got also said, "Please be aware that only a small number of early applicants have their applications held, and a number of those applicants in past years have subsequently been admitted."
I applied completely RD - nothing special.
App submitted mid December.
Alum phone interview this week.
167/3.4/URM
Any ideas if this is just the waitlist? Or do they have something wrong in my file and they think I'm ED?

Re: Georgetown Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
So I had my interview over winter break on 12/28... and haven't heard anything since then... I got a follow-up email two weeks ago asking me to confirm that I'd had my interview and the date of it (because I forgot to fill out the "I've Scheduled My Interview" survey in the email they sent when they offered the interview), but radio silence otherwise. Should I be worried?? My concern is that my interviewer may have forgotten to submit the paperwork, because if she had, the Admissions Committee would have known I'd had my interview and wouldn't have needed to follow up with me.
ASW trick isn't working, but my stats are pretty strong and all similar applicants on LSN have gotten in with them this cycle. (GPA: 3.65, LSAT: 168) All other interviewees seem to have heard with 1-2 weeks.

Re: Georgetown Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
Really pissed, my application got held. Says I'll hear back before Feb 28th though which I guess isn't too bad.
My question is: how many people who get their application held are eventually admitted? My guess is that almost all are either preferred waitlisted/ reg waitlisted/dinged.
Also, I already sent an optional essay, a why Georgetown, and 3 rec letters. It would be pointless to send a LOCI, right? Anything else I can do to boost my chances? Thanks everyone

It doesn't seem like it's ever pointless to send a LOCI. Do it, and at the very least if it doesn't work out, you won't be kicking yourself for not trying.StopLawying wrote:Really pissed, my application got held. Says I'll hear back before Feb 28th though which I guess isn't too bad.

I had my alumni interview today and it was extremely pleasant. The only big questions asked were why law/why GULC, with the rest of it just being a conversation about Georgetown/my interests/being a lawyer.

Do students at Georgetown have an overwhelming big-law-or-bust mentality? I hope to work in litigation at a private firm but am wary of big law's lack of work-life balance and negative affect on mental health.

GULC and Berkeley both seem to match scholarships rather than offer big money, so hopefully you have a third offer to negotiate with...Boiler2020 wrote:In via ASW trick! This is in my top 2 with Berkeley if the money is right. (So probably not gonna happen, but hopefully).
