I'd rather just negotiate to a fully normally than waste my time on Rothman.
Plus although having some security for a summer job is nice, Skadden is a renowned for being a sweatshop and is generally avoided by people with the grades to do so.

Yeah definitely...but nothing stopping you from doing 2L OCI if you hate it/have grades, and that no debt life makes even Skadden sound tolerable...

Just got the email regarding the travel stipend. I would like to go to Law day and the diversity reception the night before, but the stipend only covers airfare. A round-trip ticket to LA from Houston is only around $230. It would be cool if we were allowed to use the remaining amount of the stipend to cover a night at a hotel or something.

Honestly the thing that worries me most about this is getting it and in the process turning down moderate scholarships at the t10 and KICKING myself later if my career options/goals are limited by virtue of not having gone to a more prestigious school.

I know USC has a decent big-law federal clerkship rate, but is the Rothman really better than the Darrow, etc?

I'm confused because there is only one USC grad working at Skadden as an associate so it looks like 1L SA doesn't translate to a 2L SA, either by the choice of the Rothman scholar or by choice of Skadden (if the Rothman scholar has to do OCI with the rest of the class)

This guy was from c/o 2008 so no recent examples

Isn't the Darrow up to full tuition plus stipend? There's no way a Skadden 1L SA is worth the difference between USC and Michigan.

UCLA's is April 9th hmmm
Wondering if I can stay with friends/family that week to knock out both with one trip. I def don't want to spend the money for flying twice even if it is partially reimbursed.

I bet both schools will work with us to split costs if we wanted to make that work.

Pretty much same, but adding in some T6 reaches as well.

Did anyone else just receive an email about being admitted to the Honors Scholars Program? Seems like an awesome opportunity and includes merit aid but haven't heard about it before this
