do it asap honestly... you're still able to negotiate

That's awesome that you can. I might as well accept mine. I'm waiting on my negotiation.

Just got a reply from USC saying I should expect to hear about my $ reconsideration request within a week. I'm thinking some of y'all should hear back by then if not sooner.

In this scenario, would you have already accepted and put down the deposit? I ask because I think I have some room for improvement on my LSAT (I blew two LG sections) and would prep if I thought it could increase my $$$ wherever I end up. For whatever (incorrect?) reason, I always thought of the June LSAT as the way to get myself off of waitlists but never really thought of it as more money.

yes you would be deposited. your only real leverage I think would be to say "I'm going to withdraw if no more money is offered" if you score higher unless you subsequently got off a WL somewhere else because of the new LSAT score. I think most people do it to see if 1) they can get more money or 2) to see how much better they can do on the LSAT and see if its worth reapplying with the new score

It can be used as a threat basically.
"Give me more money or I'll withdraw"
Yes you will have already made your deposits, and if the school's medians aren't in peril they may just laugh at you and tell you no.
The most obvious benefit is that if you do significantly better, you'd withdraw and apply next cycle to hopefully get all around better options.

The best strategy is probably just to work with what you've got and negotiate hard over the next 1.5 months while their class is still up in the air.

Hmm interesting. I may prep. The thing is I'm a splitter and already above their 75th so I'm not sure how much more value I'd bring to the table if I snag a couple more points... Either way, thank you! :)

Yeah, I've got my fingers crossed on those negotiations! I don't want to wait a year though in terms of the June LSAT. Thanks for laying out the options! :)

Any idea how many people have deposited so far?? I assume it must be high otherwise they wouldn't put so many high scores on waitlist.

Those that emailed the Travel Agency to set up flight plans: How long did it take to get a response? How close were they able to schedule your flight to your desired times?

I called, and they were extremely accommodating. The travel agent was willing to look at a bunch of different options for me, and handled my inability to make up my mind very well :)

One thing to note--apparently, some of the cheaper budget airlines (Spirit, Southwest, etc.) will not allow you to use two separate cards. So if the travel agent finds something on Spirit/Southwest/etc. that is UNDER your stipend limit, then great. But if he finds something that is even slightly over the stipend limit, you can't pay the difference. Just something to keep in mind in case the non-budget airlines that DO allow splitting are significantly more expensive than the budget airlines. The difference you pay could potentially be even more than it would cost to just pay for the entire budget airline ticket on your own without the stipend. That was not the case with my ticket, but something to keep about if you are as miserly as I am...
