I was just wondering if you were able to have a decent social life? Also, what was your living situation like? Did you live on campus, commute, etc?lakers3 wrote:Congrats to everyone that has been getting in! I'm a 1L currently so if anyone has any questions about the school I'm happy to try and answer. Re: USC c/o 2020 Applicants Thread (2016-2017)
Honestly, pretty much all of my decision came down to money and wanting to be in CA. I didn't necessarily have a strong preference for USC starting the admission process, but I felt really good about it at admitted events.ggnobbq wrote:what made you choose 'SC over Columbia, GULC, and w/e other schools you got into (other than $$$, of course)? Any idea how OCI/EIW went in fall 2016?lakers3 wrote:I'm really happy with my choice. The culture is good, everyone works hard but its not cut throat or anything like that. Even after 1st semester grades came out, everyone is pretty cool to one another.Rigo wrote:How do you like it? Wish you did things differently? How's the culture? Etc.lakers3 wrote:Congrats to everyone that has been getting in! I'm a 1L currently so if anyone has any questions about the school I'm happy to try and answer. I have noticed that a lot of people are right from undergrad or close to it, and I think the median age of my class was 23. It has never bothered me, but that is something to keep in my mind for better or worse.
I've been really impressed with the resources of the school. The career services office, professors, and other support systems are really responsive and extremely helpful. I don't know how other law schools are, but I definitely think that is a pro of the school.
Overall I am really happy with my choice and I think it is a great outcome if the price is right and you are pretty sure you want to stay in CA
I don't know any specifics about 2016 OCI, but I think it was pretty standard as to years past. About 35/40ish % of the class gets big law.

Social life isn't great, but thats to be expected. I do go to bar review pretty much every Thursday. Also, if football is your thing, thats a pretty fun experience on Saturday's during the fall semester. I only went to a few, but I know there were people that went to all of them.notmarkymark wrote:I was just wondering if you were able to have a decent social life? I live off campus, although I know a lot of people live near the campus. I know there is a building that is all law students and is school-run, but I don't really know the details about that.

I'm still waiting to hear back from USC but that's my tentative plan! Then again, I'm local so it doesn't require too much planning.Ashleighjarm wrote:Anybody going to the admitted tour day on March 3 and maybe making a long weekend and going to UCLA's event on March 6?

Good luck on USC! I'm from NorCal, so I'm trying to decide if I should drive or fly. But damn, LA hotels are stupidly expensive!sorence wrote:I'm still waiting to hear back from USC but that's my tentative plan! Thanks! Yeah, I'd say that your best bet is AirBnB for sure. Hotels are ridiculous near USC.Ashleighjarm wrote:

Please never invite me to sporting events, USC. I'd rather sit here and watch Real Housewives. tyia
