I also have this same question. Is there anyone already reserved their scholarship who can comment on this?lawlzschool wrote:Figured I'd ask here before I make a silly...
Is there any reason why I wouldn't do the "scholarship award reservation" right now?
They say:
"Scholarship Reconsideration: We will not begin considering requests for increased scholarship amounts until early March. Reserving your scholarship award will not preclude you from scholarship reconsideration. Rather, we will be waiting to ensure that any adjustments are made equitably and consistently with your fellow admitted students."
So to me it sounds like I can reserve but still negotiate? I definitely want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding here...

Under review since 1/19. Classic splitter GPA < 25% LSAT > 75%
Is this bad news? FWIW I've noticed a lot of people with <25% GPa's not get any decision yet.

Just got dinged for the public interest scholars program! Reading the rejection e-mail was a roller coaster since I thought it was just a general rejection.
Was bizarre to see an e-mail at all since my status checker doesn't say I'm under review. But I guess technically I am? Maybe I was under a special review and now I'll be reviewed with all the general applicants?
Wild ride.

Re: USC c/o 2020 Applicants Thread (2016-2017)
In as of yesterday! Went complete 1-23, went under review...sometime between 1-23 and two weeks ago. GPA 25-50; LSAT > 75. I won't know how serious I am about USC until I get $$ info, but a few questions:
1. I saw one post on here about a stipend for attending tours--is that a thing? On the admitted students checklist, I still see the "Law Day" info listed as TBD. Anyone know if we can get stipends for Law Day? I'll be coming from the East Coast, and ASW trips are really starting to add up...
2. It might be WAY too early to discuss housing, but that is a major part of my $$ calculus. (I.e., BU gave me a nice scholarship, but I am really not thrilled about the prospect of spending $1,500/month on housing). I poked around the USC admitted students site for housing info, and it seems like student housing is RIDICULOUSLY inexpensive! $1,125/month including all utilities?! And even cheaper options outside of Terrace? Can't even be real. That being said, I have a dog, so student housing isn't going to work for me. Does anyone who is more familiar with the area have a sense of how much off-campus housing might cost, on average?

I've been looking around since I got in. Off campus housing that studios for 700-1000 one bedrooms 900 and up.chichi1992 wrote:In as of yesterday! Still being under review since 1/9 while people who submitted after me are getting in with worse numbers is making me anxious.

I think you and I were the people with the exact same scores too right? Welp. Maybe they're just trying to decide how much to give both of us in scholarships hahaimtca wrote:njdevils327 wrote:Still being under review since 1/9 while people who submitted after me are getting in with worse numbers is making me anxious.
