Last week I got a call from an Austin number and I got so excited and I was thinking it would be UT.

"You have been selected to participate in a survey." I angrily hung up the phone and got upset. My hopes were up for nothing.

Oh, and then later that day, I sent out an email to 1000 potential survey participants asking them to participate in my own research project survey. I realized I probably made bad karma earlier that day.

Lol that's rough. I live in Austin, so my heart has already been broken numerous times by random numbers. "Well folks, is it going to be SCHOOL or SPAM today? Place your bets now!"

I'm in Austin as well- I looked up the number people had been getting admissions calls from and saved it. So I knew when I got the call it was from them. 10/10 would recommend

I am also from Austin, this one just happened to be extra painful for me because I cursed the people (in my mind) who were doing the things only one hour later I was doing.

Has anyone who applied in January received a decision yet? The waiting is killing me!

Good question. I'm a UT alum, applied in Jan, got into two top 10 schools in February, just interviewed with another, and still no word from Texas.

I just got an email too. I was kind of hoping for more for need aid, but I'll take what I can get. Did you see your merit award on there as well? I don't see mine.

Good to see I am not the only one in this situation. If it helps, I have info from a reliable source who said that decisions could well be rolling out through the middle of April.

I was afraid of that....all these April seat deposits are already giving me anxiety. Still waiting on responses from like 10 schools.

I'm hoping they'll be gracious with reconsideration. I just need my other schools to up their offers first before I submit.

I hate how UT wants a deposit by April 7th. everywhere else is April 15!

I know! Apparently April admittance isn't that uncommon. I know of at least two people who applied in Jan last year and weren't accepted until mid April.

Anyone had any luck calling their financial aid office?? I e-mailed them a few days ago and I have been waiting to figure out how to apply to internal awards.
