Have you guys got your app status checkers or emails informing you went complete? Cause I'm kind of still in the 'received' stage.. Applied 1,5 months ago

I only got a received email, but it said this: "Please pay careful attention to your Activity Updates from LSAC. The Law School is unable to notify you when we receive your Law School Report, but your application file will be complete and ready for review once we receive the report."

I contacted them to ask about my UT EID. I had previously had one because I applied for a job at the University and I needed to create one. During that conversation they told me my EID for the Law School App. Then I poked around to find the status checker on their site. I logged in and it tells me I am under consideration for Regular Decision. Not much information in the checker, but it is much different from all the other checkers. Don't think I would have heard anything yet if I hadn't contacted them...

Visited the law school yesterday and had a tour. Learning about the opportunities the school can provide me was great, but seeing how awesome Austin is has made me rethink where I want to go.

Sent in my application right before the ED deadline, whew...now to wait it out. Didn't get a status checker e-mail yet, though.

Is receiving an email with a status checker and UT EID details a sign of things? I received the email today, but the status checker only shows my initial processing date which was the date they sent me the "application received" email in September.

I got that today too. I don't think it's a sign of anything except that they just decided to send out login info.

I did too. Maybe they're actually starting to move toward reviewing.

Just checked last year's thread and first TLS acceptance was Dec 8 (ED) and Dec 17 (RD).

Re: Texas C/O 2020 (2016-2017) Applicants
To address some of the confusion around the status checker and sparse emails from admissions just thought I'd share my experience thus far.
I applied early/mid-October and got the received email the day after I submitted saying to watch closely blah blah blah. Based on what a few people said on here about finding the status checker on the UT website I looked for and found that a few days ago since I hadn't received anything else yet and claimed my login, but it was confusing. Then a few days after that I got an email from UT providing my UT EID, but saying they couldn't display my password because I had either already claimed it or it was locked. When I login now, it shows a different page from what I originally found and under application items says received, and then as a bullet point under that says "Your Texas Law application is complete and ready for review as long as we have received your CAS report." My LSAC shows that my report was requested and sent to them, so I am assuming this means everything is complete and ready for review.
Just thought I'd share to see if this clears things up for anyone!

+1 exact same experience except I had a UT EID from last cycle so I didn't email them
To be clear I never emailed them either, just went and claimed my UT EID online and a few days later got the email from them providing it to me. Unclear if my claiming it prompted something in their system to send it or if the timing was coincidental.

For those out of staters who wrote a why Texas essay after receiving the email. Did the person who emailed you respond after you emailed back the essay? I did not receive any reply that they saw my email and want to make sure it did not get lost in a pile of emails.
Would it be weird to email today (since today is the deadline) asking if they saw my email?

Probably wouldn't hurt, I've found them responsive with emails in general.
Is it a bad sign if an out of stater was NOT asked to write a Why Texas essay?

checking out of this thread. figured it's probably not worth it to apply and try to use UT as leverage. good luck to everyone!

IIRC I was accepted last year in mid-January, and so were several others. We were one of the first "waves", but UT doesn't really go in waves as rigidly as other schools so take that with a grain of salt.

First acceptances for RD were a month from today last year. Not too much longer (hopefully).

I'm hoping I'll be wrapped up in the holidays by that point and it will just come as a nice surprise.

Anyone write any of the optional essays? I just wrote up a disadvantage essay and a standardized test score essay.

Congratulations! That's a lot earlier than last year (Dec. 11 for ED).
If the timeline is similar then there should be some RD admits in about a week or so.
