Just sent in my application. Bit of a reach, but maybe there's a chance.

The email for my app confirmation was sent to my spam folder for some reason. I was wondering why they were the only school to not send me an email after I sent in my apps

Does anyone know if Residency questions/supplemental requirements hold up admissions decisions? The status checker isn't very clear...

Does the status checker ever change to under review or is it just going to be the "As long as CRS has all your stuff, your app is complete" blurb until they decide?

I think that's probably all it does. I'm hoping we will find out for sure in the next two weeks or so.

I asked the administration about this, and I think it does. They consider the pool of Texas residents separately, so if there were questions about your residency I think they'd need to be resolved to figure out what pool to consider you in.

Yes, it's just a $10,000.00 a year stipend or resident status if nonresident. $10,000.00 a year for a resident isn't too bad of a deal for many with in-state tuition.

Also, because it's a STIPEND (directly paid to you?), I wonder if it can be combined with other benefits like GI Bill or Hazlewood. That would make UT a really good choice for some ex-military.

I just got an e-mail saying that: "Upon initial review of your application, the Admissions Committee has decided to hold your file for additional consideration with the Regular Decision applicant pool. Your "hold" status should not be viewed as a denial, a deferral, or an invitation to the waitlist. As a result of being held, however, you are no longer bound by the Early Decision requirements."

Any tips on how I can bug admissions or should I just send a polite, thank you for telling me what's going on e-mail?

What do you mean by bug admissions?

I wouldn't respond to that at all unless they specifically ask for a response.

Bug is the wrong word. I just meant, is it polite to respond with a thank you or should it just be taken as an automatic notification?

The law school game is an odd one.

I'd personally treat it like an automatic notification but I don't think there's anything wrong with a "Thanks for letting me know, just wanted to reiterate that I'm still interested in your school."

Is it bad if a UT ED applicant hasn't heard?

Only three ppl have indicated acceptance on myLSN, all ED (not sure how many are ED and waiting for acceptance on LSN though...). When does UT say they'll have ED decisions out by?

They mention december, but the reason I ask is because someone here got a hold to RD email and the txlawadmissions Twitter says they're done with ED. So I thought it would be weird for an ED person to not hear: neither hold, nor ding, NOR accept.

I might call and say something like, "I saw your tweet and I wanted to check on the status of my application because my status checker says I am ED (check this first), but I also see that ED decisions are finished, yet I have not received a response one way or another."

Utilize more nuance, but you get the idea.

Did they say they're done reviewing or done sending decisions? It's possible they meant they reviewed them all and are in the process of sending out decisions. I agree that it wouldn't be a bad idea to call and check with admissions since it's something they tweeted out.
